Hi just wondered has anybody fitted a turbo to the 1.4 sri engine before? what like is it and is alot of work?

Iam really very interested in fitting a turbo to my sri engine and before you all say just buy a 2 litre turbo lump, i dont want too. Insurance will be fine cos farm insurance is a great thing to have he he :D

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Na i have a few mates that are mechanics and one that works for a tuning company so if i knew all the pros and cons I could be advised. Like which turbo to buy how much etc?

Courtenay do a conversion for the SRi.... It gives 115bhp if I remember.... But costs ?3000 :(

Once saw an SRi with a Turbo and MBE Standalone ECU which was kicking out 130bhp and 145 lb's ft Torque....

So it has been done before.... With good results :)

if your gunna run 10psi yuo need to lower the compression. once spoke to a guy at MBE before and the most he advised running was 8psi without lowering compression

even 8psi on 10:1 compression is gonna end up with melted bits
