Splitter or no Splitter?

I've been thinkin about this for a while now. I need opinions.... Should i add a splitter? or not?

If so, what splitter?

I used to have a seat cordoba splitter... but a local guy has copied..

Yeah put a splitter on but it should be a subtle one (More subtle that the one you had that someone copied) and also one that now many people at all have fitted............

vr6 has allways bin the best splitter. imo the car wud look better balenced without one. wud look alot meaner with one tho.

IMO - VR6 looks good from the front, but look at it from the side and it's 'stepped' = Front bumper almost on floor, skirts 3" higher up, rear bumper another 3" higher up.

Yeah, but this guy used to have a nova with a kit, and all the other boy racer things accociated with Nova's. Then he looked round mine, talked a bit, 6 months later he comes back with a 1.2 that looks like this:

But mine has changed since then.. and i'm just looking for something to set mine away from his..

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I seen so many Nova's that are virtual copies of other peoples cars (Mine and Yours included!) but I think that you'll nver escape from that!

just screw on wot 1 u think looks best. be it VR6(wot ive got), Laguna, Seat.... the VR6 1 can b a pain in the arse tho! mine keeps gettin pulled off goin ova speed bumps. trouble is wot eva 1 u choose sum 1's got it on theirs!! where did u get the chrome inserts 4 ur bumpers? seen em on another nova they look smart.

I know what you mean KR, and it IS annoying when people copy stuff. But it's like the person that copies gets the 'benefit' i.e. you find the best looking combination of something, and then they just copy it. So then you change, just for the sake of not having it same as theirs, but then if what you had in the first place was 'the BEST combination/choice' of something, then you will no longer have the 'best' choice of something because you've let the other peson have it, in effect.

Also, that's why you should just say 'i cant remember' when people like that ask you what the parts fitted are/how much/where from. If they want to copy, let them work at it, dont just hand it them on a plate.

Plus, if it's a 'local' car all the 'local' people would know who was 'the first', so you still get your dues. Otherwise, whats the prob?

Keith the only two options i personally would go for is either leave it standard without a splitter, or use the VR6 mentioned.

The only splitter that really suits the gsi bumper imo. :wink:

I like my Ibiza splitter :) Theres plenty to chose from Keith. Don't let it bother you if someone copies you, take it as a compliment :)

Its not fitted yet, waiting to get the backing plate of the motor chromed. Neithers the engine, fuel tank etc etc..

I might just go back with the Cordoba splitter, or ibiza... After all my nova will still stand out with the V6 front brakes, and rear discs, chrome bumper detail, lower and chrome/polished speedlines (when i get em done)

Think it looked mint before keith especially as i havnt seen many with that splitter on.

But if you do have to change it those are the only 2 options i would go for mate.

Never really been one for splitters as i like the look of a standard bumper, but do admit the mk2 bumper looks a bit bare without one :wink:

Think I'vs said this to you before Keith - Leave it!! looks loads cleaner without one at all.
But if you do fit one, especially the really deep ones like the VR6, it's got to be fitted really well - looks a bodge otherwise.

Quite fancy the laguna one with no holes as someone mentioned, that would look well clean & tidy.

Fit a seat splitter, but get one made from carbon fiber. Should only be ?100 max.

Only a small amount of trimming was needed at the very ends. Fits the lines quite well and as its thin and a single flap unlike the Cupra ones its easy to manipulate.
