I need his number aswell m8, i bought a pair of novadose bumpers from him and was told the back one was mint and the front one was also good but had a small crack in the bottom corner where it hit a speed bumpand could easily be fixed with a small amount of fibreglass

so i sent him a cheque for the bumpers and also the postage and packaging!

4 weeks l8r my bumpers arrived and the front one had more than a small crack, it was smashed to fuck!!!

I emailed him about it and he replied saying " It must have been the courier service i will give them a ring and complain"

It was obviouse the damage had not been done by the courier service coz the colour of the fibreglass where the cracks were had faded where it had been on the car 4 a while.

PM sent Anton.........

He's a good bloke and an Honest bloke

I sold him my old GTE, long story but it involved me leavin the car 200 miles from home, and him sending me the cash via post which he did with no delays

with hindsight i sould'nt have done it, (He could have ripped me off BIG STYLE) but he never so he gets my vote.......

I recently bought a race/rally rear anti roll bar system off him and was slightly cautious as I'd heard a few negative comments about him.

But I had My roll bar delivered when He said it would be and no prob's what so ever, seemed genuine enough to Me :D

Haven't got his number though, just his E-mail address.

PMSL, sounds very familar, brought a GTE grill years ago, no big deal, but the 3 clips that attach to the car itself were snapped off, so i emailed "must have been broken the courier company, you should have words with them"

well

1. the package was tightly sealed so nothing could get in or out

and

2. GUESS what, no clips inside, ROFLMFAO, never will deal with him again dont care it was only a ?15 grill but its the principle of being ripped off for a "mint" part that gets to me more than anything.

*sigh* its the same old story - boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, girl finds boys humongous stash of pronography....

no sorry thats the wrong old story.

Why do people keep dealing with people who they know full well have a poor reputation? Seems a little silly to me.

Fair enough Colin Smith has treated many people well, but he has also treated people badly - in my opinion dealing with him is a bit of a gamble, so complaining about it afterwards is pointless - always results in the same thing, you either get "I told you so" or "I never had a problem" both of which do not help.

My advice is always make sure you have full contact details for the person you are dealing with before any money changes hands.

ste & corsanova - lmao My mate went back to a porn shop with a bat and smashed it up after he discovered the porn video he got given was a hardcore gay one, after he specifically said he wanted to see cock going into pussy and stuff. He knew he'd get away with it, as the video wasn't a licensed one, the guy was selling them from 'under the floorboards' so wouldn't call the police as he'd get in the shit for that.

I've got that shit a few times too (not from him, havent dealt with him). They seem to forget that - if it was damaged during delivery by the courier company, it's TOUGH SHIT FOR THEM as you have a legaly bounding contract with the person you order the parts from, and they are the one's that are liable for them, the courier company is a third party thats acting as an agent of the person you have the contract with. If somethings broken, you can recover the money from the person you have a contract with and then it's THEIR problem to recover their losses from the couriers. And in any case, that's why they should have the item insured during delivery, to cover their backs. Otherwise it's their risk.

Also, when signing for parts when they are delivered ALLWAYS sign it as ''not checked yet''.

 ROFLMAO at the 1st part of Andy's post.
Im so sad... :|

A few courier companies won't accept "not checked yet" as a signature, so just make the driver wait around while you open the package and check it. The most he can do is grumble, because he can't leave the item without a signature.

If you're dealing with another person "cash in hand" then their is no legal contract...someones word isn't legally binding unless you have them on tap agreeing to something...thought you needed to sign a contract or something for it to be legally binding. correct me if i'm wrong though.

HI

plenty of couriers would think nothing of forging signatures. One delivered tyres to my friends garage by throwing them over the wall and then forging the signature of the tyre fitter on the form and then driving off.

ITs not beyond the realms of possibility for things to get damaged in transit. Indeed, panels and car parts etc are quite commonly used to "fill that gap by the crate" thus resulting in a squashed parcel with dents/ cracks in your parcel.

Whilst ive had no problems in my dealings with Mr. Smith, ive read one too many reports with negative comments for me to not consider picking up personally as Ste says..

if you go in person people are more reluctant to sell you crap stuff and rip you off cos theres a chance you'll beat the hell out of them. dealing by phone/email people care less as the buyer is hundreds of miles away and are therefore more likely to palm you off with crap goods

unless you're either a weener, or female. lol

And dealing by phone isn't that bad, as you pay can pay by credit card, and a lot of them offer free insurance and etc. Plus paying like that, or by cheque, is confirmation that payment has been made and goes to show that a contract has been entered into. Then the other guy would have to show that he's provided full consideration on his part, which is what the signatures are required for.

Cash in hand and etc still results in a legally binding contract, though it is VERY difficult to prove.

There are loopholes in everything, and unscrupulous characters can get away with a lot. And even more if they know the loopholes.
