Channel 5 5th Gear are looking for researchers. Outline 3 topics that you would like to research and why on 1 piece of A4. Include your CV ( you dont have to have journalism degree) and send it off to them - check out website for details.
Surely this a good chance for a much neglected part of the car owning community - namely young peeps into modded cars and cruising/meets - to tell the world what its all about?
Had to laff - Clarkson went to a cruise on Top Gear. When asked what was going on he was told that they were "flexin" :lol: The C2 is where its going to be at! pmsl :lol:

yeah the top gear feature was good; ?20,000 on saxo's reckon it'll happen to the c2 as well?? ide much rather spend my ?20,000 on that fab monaro that looked the dogs imho. fifth gear job competition thing wouldn't be easy but i would forward the crazy world of modded maxing as you say CP good topic. the fact that it goes from the flexing loonies burning and crashing at cruises down to genuine car buffs that just appreciate their car, car clubs, shows and not down at local cruises.

cruises are fine but i only ever went to one in my "best" car ONCE and it showed me never to do it again!, too many knobheads doinvg handbrakes in 1.1 saxo's or their mums corsa. some dick in a e-reg Nissan Bluebird Turbo took out a brand new parked-up Scoob P1. Blubird was coming through the petrol station onto the retail park at about 60mph. drunk driver, no insurance, NO PROSECUTION! the pigs didn't wanna know cos it was an illegal cruise anyway, trespassing on private property! They laughed at the impreza owner, telling him he shouldn't be there!
Still think cruises are cool?

ive sat opposite VBH in my local Thai Curry house. my table was all wobbly due to one side being lifted off the floor (kevin and perry style lol) :D
I'd enter that compo/job ad, but a)lots of kiddies writing "when i grow up i want to drive a fast car with plastic shite all over them" and also what I want to write/research about isnt really that intresting for a TV show (appart from when an auto gearboxed car kicks the ass of its manual counterpart)

I think that you would have to offer to do research on how much fun caravanning actually is, or what glue keeps your syrup on the best when driving convertibles. It is a proven fact that the sort of people who decide who wins this sort of thing are actually car hating 'artistic' types who drive Fiat multiplas.
By the way, I know a lad who for two years has been trying to get to know VBH. he has had no luck, but he is a spotty ginger streak of piss.

how about:
1. The scandalous situation where police (esp Northants :evil: ) routinely send officers out to speed trap relatively unimportant roads ( ie my village or an industrial estate) but are routinely unable to find the resources to deal with many RTA's. I have heard numerous accounts where peeps have been hit by other road users and because no -one is hurt and the carriageway isnt blocked the police say they havent got anyone available to attend. In all the cases at the very least there is the illegal behaviour of driving without due care and attention and in many there are other more serious infringements such as no tax insurance etc, driving over the limit, drugged up etc etc. Are we saying that speeding is more socially unacceptable than the above which have actually resulted in an accident or are we saying that dont bother with difficult crime just go for the easy stuff esp if can make a lot of money with an automatic fine system? And why camouflage speed camera vehicles - how is that in the public's interest?
2. The crazily high levels of insurance for young people - is it encouraging more of them to drive without it?
