SRi dropping out of gear

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. Went out in my SRi today and while i was driving in 4th it just popped out of gear. It turns out that i could infact take it out of any gear without any crunching and also put it into gear with minimal crunching. :? :roll:
Does it have anything to do with the fact that ive just had me clutch cable changed or is me gearbox fooked?
Cant afford another expensive repair job :cry:

does the clutch slip? other wise might be gearbox!

Nah the clutch isn't slipping at all but i know the linkage is dodgy because to get 5th i need to push the lever down as if i was going to go into reverse. Havent had chance to sort the linkage out :? . Would that cause it to slip out of gear tho??

i had that happen to me on one of sr's, the syncromesh in my gearbox had given up so wouldnt hold it in place when i used third gear.
