CV joints

What do you guys think is the best way to replace a CV joint on the passengers side?

Take the hole shaft out and work on it on a bench?

Or

Leave it in and work on it in the car?

would be lot easier to work on it out of the car but some are a nightmare to get out the gearbox, see if u can pull it out of the box if not just do it on the car

do it on the car just pop it off and fit new
