im sure 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 are the same as i have interchanged them but i have change whole systems i currently have a 1.6 manifold on my 1.3 but the whole gsi system. 1,2 is very different
not 100% sure on what fit what but i know you cant put a 1.3 back box on 1.6 middle section or other way round need whole sytem like the gsi system i have in my front garden magnex f any one want it

used to runa GSI on my 1.4 SR but i think it was matched, oh well, nm, lol

as above  .
they are all compatible IIRC but they are different and you loose some flow if you use the lower spec ones.

They have different shape size exhaust ports!

the 1.6 is identical to 1.3 .. i made sure of this when i put my manifold on. carburettor 1.6s have square ports so that would not mach but the gsi engine matchs 1.3

looks like another case of people answering without actually having any experience, just going by what some kev told em down the maccy d's.

all the exhaust ports are the same 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.6

will - the manifold (4-2bit) IS the same on the 1400 and 1600. im sure someone with epc will agree. 1300 is slightly different from what ive seen

I would hazard a guess that Ste and Ben have seen far more nova engine manifolds than yaw so is conciderable more experienced to cemment on this subject thasn yaw. Rick

1.2 is some pathetic 4-1 thing that is fit for the canal.
1.3 is 4-2-1 and will interchange as long as the manifold and downpipe are swapped as a pair.
1.6 will fit both the 1.2 & 1.3.
I did once run a 1.6 gte lump in a mk1 astra with the original 1.3 manifold & system, it worked ok.

I never bothered playing with a 1.4 so can't help you on that one.

1.0 is on opposite side of engine, sop diff
1.2 is unique
1.3/1.4sr is same
1.4sri same as last gsi
1.6 gte/early gsi same (no lambda hole)

the angle of the ports and bolt holes are different on the sri/gte/gsi as the sr!!!!

Cant say ive looked into them in that much detail but yes Dicko explanation is spot on from what i can remember.

As said by someone else they would all work within reason but then if you have size feet size 9 shoes will go on but wont be very good fit.

Oh Dicko, what shape are the 1.5 ports?

early 1.3 are different from later models, maybe changed when 2e3 was fitted?

lol,
steve is correct , the 2 above my post were talkin crap. they all use the same gasket so the bolt holes are all in the same place and the ports are also the same shape. only the inlets are different. after 8 years of nova ownership i have seen plenty of manifolds ,thankyou ;)

 at everyone!

So many people talking at cross purposes.

The cylinder head exhaust ports are the same cathedral shape for all of the OHC engines from 1.2 to 1.6. The differences are in length and the way they go from 4-2-1 or 4-1. If you fit a 1.6 manifold to a 1.2 engine, the existing sytem will not meet up properly. Best bet is to fit the entire system with the manifold. If you need a lambda sensor make sure you get your system from the right model.

The inlet ports vary on each engine. The 1.2 and 1.3sr ports are the same cathedral shape. The 1.2spi, 1.4spi and the 1.4sr are the same square shape, and the 1.4mpi and 1.6mpi are the same round shape.

The 1.5d engines have wierd ports and dont match any of the ohc engines, inlet or exhaust iirc.

If anyone would like to see examples of all of these cylinder heads, I believe there are plenty of each lying around at CP's.
