hi my 1.6 gsi has lost loads of power ecu light keeps coming on so i took it to vaux to get it on the machine

they found three codes one was the oil temp sensor voltage too high the other two he couldn't make out were for a automatic gearbox :?

so he went to check the computer and the nova is no longer on the files due to how old it is and there need the room for the newer cars

so plan B went to my local garage and at the time a rep was there with a new engine computer so we tested it on my car

found out that the map sensor (air flow meter) and oil temp sensor were both reading voltage high and low.

so we thought there must be a couple of wires earthing out. we stripped all the casing off my loom and could not find any wires touching

so has anybody got any ideas please

sorry it a bit long

take it to a Bosch fuel injection specialist

oooh sounds similar to my 'been putting up with it for ages' problem, with mine boot it as revs rise ecu light acts like a shift light a stays on while u keep it floored. sometimes car loses power when light comes on. sorry to interrupt post. never been to vauxhall with it though. a bosch specialist you say... it is something to do with bad connection.

Ask on MIG.

Is it related to recent cold damp weather - poor connections etc? Maybe worth get a spray can of electrical joint cleaner and and unclipping everything and treating all joints as a start?

I hate electrics - works 1 minute and the next it doesn't with no rhyme or reason a lot of the time
