changing cambelt

hello all, i need to change the cambelt on a 1.4 sr...and we cant get it off. does anyone know the best way to get the bottom pully off?
the cambelt keeps slipping when we try and undo it. its really important as u would all know. all help is much appreciated. thanks

take off the gearbox plate and stick a screwdriver in the flywheel, or stick it in 4th /5th gear then undo the pulley nut

i've just done this, i need a mate in the car with his foot on the break and car in gear, then used my big cracking bar. when i tried it with just the handbrake on it moved the car too much

don't all 1.4 sr's have square top's

jack car up a little, but a long bar on the socket and leave it facing towards the front of the car but touching the floor, give the ignition a quick tweak ;) worked everytime for me!!
