Increasing Engine Displacement

What are the benefits of increasing the engines cc,
what's involved, roughly how much will it cost ?

I remember reading about a Nova GSi that had
been bored out to 1.7, but can't remember where....

any thoughts.....

1650cc is what most people tend to go for

pistons will be around ?300-?500. then the work will be another ?250 to ?500 depending on what else you want. good time to fit a decent cam.

300-500 quid for pistons. thats uprated ones yeah? (mahle? or not that good.)

Truthfully, probably not, but thats not why we do it :D

I'm doing engine work to get the most from my 1.6. I won't have made any money on the car, and chances are over the hundreds that I've spent, I'll probably gain 10-20bhp. I'll get a RR figure when it's all fitted and run in.
