the other day after a long night on night shift, i got locked out of my flat it was about 6:30 so i thought i know i'll break into ma beast using only the arial i managed to get, if a dumbass like me can get in anyone else could.

my advice, buy a bee sting arial like i'm going to

Novas are reknowned for being easy to break in to. there's very little you can do about it really.

Just make sure you have a good loud alarm and an immobiliser to stop anyone nicking your car and dont leave anything on show.

it's ok for me at the mo, it look's like a banger,(from the outside) and need's new distribution, and it's on a private carpark with shutters

Novas are way too easy to break into. :o If I leave my car in a dodgy area then I pop the hood and unplug the coil, just to make sure no one can drive her away :D :D :D

And then someone watches you take it off and goes and borrows his mates coil lead, breaks in and fits his lead......

Have broke in to a mates before cos he locked his keys in it.... used that plastic tie rap stuff, like you get round newspaper bundles, slid in between door and seal and hooked round lock and pulled up.... easy!!!

I can see the headline now ** Thefts in vauxhall novas skyrockets after users of a nova website tell people how to break into them using everyday waste**

not exactly what we want to be talking about, as it may lead to YOUR car being knicked!

best thing to do is go all out on security, but dont advertise everything you have, as they maye find ways round them as well!

Yeah same with mine put the back door window in an i still havent tinted the replacement glass.

Plus if you take the coil lead off its takes longer to pop the bonnet an put it back on, more time for me to pick up my metal pole and greet them.

There's NOTHING ever left IN the car to be nicked, and if the car itself is nicked (not thay easy) i couldn't care less. That's what i pay insurance for.

that's why i didn't say how i got in, just incase there is actually someone who doesn't know

well it's not just nova's. i have broke in to my second car this week, both hiyundai (spelling). and i can now do it in 30 secs. i work in retail and customers always lock themselves out. and i would never rob anyones pride and joy (before you start).

You don't even have to hot wire a mkII nova :(

Lock it alarm it and guard it.

:( that was a real design fault i think everyone on here will no what it is. I mean you could steal a nova in a minute easy, no wonder why their always nicked.

I've fully delocked mine.. and i'm working on removing the inner door pin's and linkage... So then the only way will be to break a window..

But my car never gets parked anywhere other than my garage, which has an alarm as well as the car.

when you park it in a public car park, take ignition leads 1 and 4 off, that way, you dont mix them and it cant be run on just 2 cylinders!

hide cut off switches around the cab, even if they hot wire it, (and do that thing in the mk2 novas!) it still wont start if its switched off!

get yourself a decent alarm, immob, interior internal sensor system!

wire up the boot, bonnet and doors to some sensor pins so they detect when being opened!

deadlocks - steering wheel, handbrake and foot pedal locks are that little bit safer!

when youve got alloys, get two sets of lock nuts!

delock the doors and have central locking, however, you might need to keep the lock on the boot incase the battery goes flat!

if youre that little bit richer, get yourself a wheel lock as well!

any other ideas?

my mates got a clifford concept 50x came on the car a 1.6 gsi nova got a receipt for 435 quid cat 1 alarm/immobiliser but i dont rate it had his back window cut out twice now and work tools stolen, there are loads of way to break into novas and many otherr cars but we shall keep that quite to many ears about

ne 1 know of a good alarm protection wise not all this start your car and do your windows up shite thanks

if you look on mr oxfords site nova-land.com there is a mod that can be done to the wiring of the mk2 switch that prevents it making a circuit :)
