I have finally built up the enthusiasm to brave the cold and start stripping the engine out of the nova ready for the engine bay re-spray/ strenthening, and new engine. So wish me luck lol, its been a while since ive worked on the old girl, so im sure you will be getting progress reports and pictures off me with skinned knuckles beating the car

My 1.4 block with a 16v head, forged pistons, arp rod polts etc etc + jenvey throttle bodies and dta ecu. Also going to put a limited slip diff in whle the gearbox is out and am re-doing all the brake setup.

well at the end off day one, ive stripped all the front end, bumber lights, bonnet etc, and just need to get hold off an engine hoist so that i can whip the engine out. Only problem is that i cant feel my hands or feet cos its so bloody cold lol
Good luck with it - tbh it needs rebuilding cos it is looking a bit tatty!!!

cheers for all the positive comments peeps, ive done a bit more on it today, infact as much as i can do without making it undrivable. Gotta wait till i get back off holiday from trinidad before i can get the engine hoist and start stripping it properly. Heres a pic of it as it stands now. As you can see there are a few bits off surface rust behind the bumper that i zinc coated the last time i rebuilt it, these will all be sorted properly this time along with the engine bay. Its loadsa fun to blat up my road in with no bonnet on though, all that cold air makes it fly :P

Are you going to be doing some track days and 1/4 mile runs with it?

Cheers locky, the rims are off a vectra but they also fitted them to tigra's, im not sure of the exact name though. They are being re-conditioned over teh winter in high power black finish.
Yes jim i should hopefully do a few 1/4 mile runs and maybe a track day if its finished next year. Its gonna be concourse, but i will use it for the purpose it was built for (mincing bigger engined car )

Excellent. I'm sure you'll have a blast round the track, especially with the amount of cash your throwing at it :) Good luck with it all :)
