Is it possible to use Nova GSi discs/pads/calipers to create a rear disc beam?

If so what other componets do i need for the conversion?

Nova gsi's didnt have rear disks.

lol i know that, i meant the front discs etc.

Thought it was obvious due to the fact the novas didnt have the rears.

Sorry, I would have thought u would have known that.

Was a bit puzzled when I read it.

In that case Im not sure. Lets hope someone with a brain can help you.

Biggest problem in using all that lot for rear disks is the fact that the nova front disks and calipers have no facility for a handbrake cable so that ruels them out from that point of view. Second problem is the fact that you would need a lot of brake biasing towards the front as i would imagin that the nova calipers would over brake the rear by a hel of a lot. Rick

Thanks, not a major problem as have a astra GTE rear beam as well, so will just use these instead.

I've seen a rally nova with standard front calipers and disks used at the back, all you need to is machine down the brake drum to form a hub then get a bracket made to hold the caliper. it wouldn't be impossible to fasion some sort of handbrake onto this system.

is this going to seem like a really dumm ass question, but...

why are the calipers and discs on the rear always bigger than the fronts?

Don't you mean why are the front always bigger than the rear???? :?
Inwhich case its to stop the rears locking up.

Its simple. Apprent weight is transferred forward under braking which means that the front wheels are forced down harder onto the ground whereas the rears tend to be lifted off the ground. The fronts can take much more braking effort applied to them before the skid. Hence the bigger brakes. They are something like 70 % efficient compared to the rears 30% IIRC

rears are 261mm
front 256mm
:?

:?

On what?

An astra are 256mm on the fronts and 226/236 on the rears.
