Anyone got any info on a steel crank for a 1600 8v GTE engine, what i need is a link, Price or an alternative for a serious engine.

You don't need a steel crank for a 1600 8v engine. A std crank lightened and balanced is good for 8500rpm all day, whatever your budget that is enough rev's!!

Remember the 8v delivers power lower down the rev range than a 16v, even a pukka 1600 16v giving 190bhp doesn't need a steel crank. Speak to people like Martin Bowyer and John Read and they will tell You a steel crank on a 1600 is a total waste of time!

In fact You don't even need steel rod's on an 8v, don't get Me wrong Kris Meeke probably has a steel crank in his Corsa Kit car but this is a works car giving 220bhp and 9,800rpm. They can both afford and need a steel crank with this power and rev's :o
