well its bin gettin worked on for 10 months now and is not yet ready for sprayin. Its got one off wide arches done by me dad and its getting sprayed by the best sprayer round my area who has bin spraying for nearly 40 years. it was an absolutely fucked 1.2 mk1. its had a new mk2 front end and has had loads of remetaling done, all the rust removed. am not gonna say what the rest of its gonna be like but it will be mint.

Its gonna have jap style kit, one off fibreglass ice install, big rims, mint spray job, custom retrim and interior, mint engine not may people have, and be well driveable.

jap style is sooooo yesterday.

if you want a bodykit nowadays, the only way to go is to build your own. that way you'll be totally unique. lets face it how many jap kits are available for a nova?? hmmmm, dont somehow think it'll be the best nova ever.

rob_wilkinson

parts of the kit are gonna be custom

parts of the kit are gonna be custom plus i didnt say its gonna be the best also how many of the kits are wank, most of them unless you spend a lot of money. Also, it depends what kit you have and how the rest of the car fits in with it. its gonna be like a new shell neway. i like to see you make a car like this from the shell we had, most panels on the car have needed remetaling. not many people would. ive seen your cars so comeback when youve built a decent project car.

Jules is Right, but theres nothing saying this guy isnt building a mad car get of his back people, was only about a year and a half ago Dan payne started talking about his car and lots were slagging off his ideas, but whose car were all the people surrounding at PV?

Give the bloke a break he has a point most people on here (including me) wouldnt have the time or patience to build a car from what he has described.

ive seen your cars so comeback when youve built a decent project car.

Is it wise saying things like that? Have you actually seen properly some of the cars on this site? K Robinsons? Martys? djp's? Breenys? Ian's? Dans sleeper? _Ben_? Karl Rowntrees? CP's? Rick Drapers? Ste's project? Nick Caros? Andy Bishops? the list goes on and on and on...

Look, I'm not knocking you or your car, I'm only stating that by putting yourself up on a pedastel like that is only setting yourself up for a fall, yeah in your eyes it might be one of the best Novas ever built but in others it won't be - Look at Pepe's Nova for example, technically it's probably the best Nova out there but not everyone likes it, same with the twin engined LET - technically excellent and the quickest Nova about but boy it looks ugly in my opinion, Brett W's Fearless Nova - Not as fast as Pepe or twin LET novas but looks so much better then them both.

Horses for courses - Now show us the pics!!

no i didnt mean better than everyone on heres car i just meant that dave gsi geezer coz he slagged me off. personally i think the best novas are the kingdom one or that k guys, the one on the cover of fast car december 2001. im only 18 and its bin me dream to build a car up from the shell for ages and since i saw the kindgom kit ive always wanted it. My car gonna have the kingdom kit but with custom, home made fibreglass sideskirts. The widen rear arches kick out at the bottom as well for one off effect. its gonna have a carbon retrimed dash and centre consol with loads of chrome/shinny sliver bits. its gonna have cobra sidewinder/daytona's, with full phionix gold install including 4 subs componets 2/4 6x9's bass cube and a few amps all in custom install including nos bottle. its gonna have a 1.6 gte bottom end with corsa 16v twin cam head, with profiled cams and other stuff. its got 17's at moment but am gonna get 18 coz i think there too small. i'll put some pics of the front end gettin done. ive got some of the arches on camera but the film needs usin up.

Sounds like you set your sights on achieving your goal, so good luck with that. All I can say is, be prepared for some people not to appreciate it. No matter what you, me or anyone does to thier car, chances are you won't be able to please everyone.

yeah i know what you mean. I know not everyone on here likes big bumpers and that they like there origionals with nice engines. Its obviously gonna appeal to the maxer power lot rather than most vauxhall lovers. But for the workmanship, quality and effort of the work done nobody will be able to question it. I personally am not to keen on Dan Paynes but for the thought and innovation put in its a top car definately a one off and i would shake his hand for building it.

i didnt slag u off i just said that you wouldnt have the best nova ever by fitting a kingdom kit.

i still stand by that, if you want the best you'll have to go custom....

http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/715big3.jpg

fitting a kindom kit with homemade sideskirts wont even be in the same league as that

Guys leave the lad alone.. i know why he's so into doing this to his nova like many people on this site... just a word of advice... u need to backup your claims with those pick otherwise u'll get a reputation very fast...

I'm selling my Lenso RS5 18"s after Xmas so if ur interested give me a P.M coz i'm after sommat abit bigger...

hope it is as good as u say (for ur sake)

Custom is the way 2 go or atleast get stuff on that aint made for nova's (everyone else will know why i'm saying that, right Dan P lol... u still waiting to see mine done lol)

Fair play to you then, if that's what you've wanted and that's what you've got then well done.
When I was 18 I wanted a standard-ish looking high power Nova GSi, now, 9 years on I've got a standard-ish looking standard-ish power Nova GSi (1 out of 2 ain't bad!!)

Anyway, get them pics up asap but don't expect everyone to like it, oh and if you're fitting a Kingdom front bumper then could you please modify it so that the little raised bit at the bottom-middle of the bumper sits level please? I've no idea how they've managed to sell so many of those bumpers when they are wonky from the mould!!

Good luck. Build the car for yourself, not for for the sake of pleasing someone else/getting a feature and you WILL have one of the best. In your own eyes.

Everyone's 'building a beast'.

Yo dude.

Your better off not even putting pics on here or telling people what you are doing coz, there will be loads that say they hate it even though its not finished.

And even when it is, a lot of people still wont like it, but then there will be the ones that do.

Same with everything. Sounds like you have some cool ideas, but saying its going to be one of the best is making a large claim.

To me any kitted nova will never be the best nova. Or any where near the best (except for pinky) No sarcy comments please u lot :D

I wouldnt even put mine in the same league as breeny's or bretts (think its bretts any way)

There cars are absolutley amazing and get the respect they deserve.

Dont think Im trying to have a go or take the piss. Just watch what you say coz u will get shot down.

On a brighter side good look. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result as it sounds cool.
