For anyone who's interested, we've made some progress on my nova de-rust/rebuild over the last week or so.
Yes I know it's got some rust in it, but any rusty panel is being replaced or cutout and plated!
www.nova-turbo.co.uk is all Updated with new pictures and stuff.
We have made up a engine mount for the F28 into nova conversion, as i could'nt find anywhere that would see this separately. Will look better when it's been blasted and powder coated.

I've already had a couple of people asking if we can make anymore, we can only make a couple of these at the moment, but if enough people are interested then we might get a batch made up.
If you are interested PM me or email andybnova@ntlworld.com
I think that mount looks a lot better than the ones supplied by people like PVD and no doubt it was lot cheaper and quicker.

Tell me about it!! Few of us are working on it!
The inner wings and Strut tops were about ?40 each from vauxhall, something like that anyway...
Bloody hell Andy.
Looks like a lot of work. Should be good when it's done though :o)
I take it a full respray is on the cards? If so what colour or have you not thought that far ahead?

It's shocking how much rust is hidden by sealer and stuff and by dodgy repairs or work.. My car looked fine until i started stripping it down....
Yeah it came off the road for full respray, new box, engine rebuild and a few other things.
Not 100% sure on colour, choice of 2 at the moment, original Diamond Black or another colour i have seen that is not Far off black!! Don't want to give to much information on the colour yet though

just one thing... the box looks a bit low?

Ste, we've checked that the engine it level and it is, and the nova chassis mount is only tacked on at the moment, so if we need to move it we can easily. The gearbox sticks out under the chassis leg and is only about 4-5mm away from the bottom of the it.
Need some pics of how close other F28's are away from the chassis legs.
Ste thanks for that bit of info any chance of some pics on how high the box should sit

when you weld the new strut top and inner wing into place how will you know they are sitting correct. eg. the turret isnt more off camber than the original?????
were the inner wings really about ?40 quid??
?40 thats a bargain, i thought they were NLS

The gearbox is sitting correct as the engine is bang on level, any higher and it would be touching the steering rack.

Andy i am sure my gearbox sits higher than that as i think my PVD driver side mount sits the engine a little higher than the carquip one used to do. Pop up and have a look of mine if you want, its the other way round in the garage now and its got no wings, struts or bumper on it. Rick

thorough is all i can say. its all a bit over my head to pretend to know whats going on. by comments seems ok. don't like that bit about how much rust is hidden out of view. 'can't see it; it isn't there!'

Going to clamp them in place, try a couple of strut braces on it and adjust as needed, and my mate Adrian Culley who work in a bodyshop is going to come round to make sure everything lines up.
Sorry i lied about the price, just checked my receipt, ?58 each, that's with my 20% discount though. Front panel was ?149

Ste, I'm using the top two holes in the mount. Middle and bottom one are used for 8v's.
I know if i use the middle and bottom one this will lift the engine, but this will then hit on the bonnet and it is already close.
Keith, Yeah he is pretty good at painting, he's done mine 2.5 times, rob's Gsi, Ian's GTE, Martin's blue SRi, Nick Caro's, Martin Kelson's.

looks like a lot of work has taken place and still to come.
That mount looks good to me. Obviously will look better when powder coated.

christ!!!
my new complete front panel was ?60 from bodyshop warehouse, they don't have inner wings tho
the box looks around the same height as myne, im on a carquip d/s mount aswell, i think it would be better to be as high as poss tho as my sump is a tad close to terra firma for my liking!
