ok then, dont know whether this has been done recently but was just wondering what sort of power people are getting out of their 1.4 or 1.3SR's..... No valvers, just SR's !
Also any quarter mile times ? Havn't heard of many seriously modded 1.4 8v....

I think it was MC who had the 1400 that would beat valver upto 60mph.

There are some seriously quick ones about.

yeh...ihad heard that MCs was a bit of an animal !
i'm thinking of stickin with the 1.4 rather than a valver...would be good to rebuild to a high standard

The 1.4's are good engines and the tuning parts are quite common to find second hand etc.

You can build a rapid 1.4 and still keep the handling spot on, anyone who says the 2.0l 16v dosent lose any handling is lying, its not quite as bad as some make out but its not as good as a small block engine.

i have a 1.4sr engine which has about 108bhp at the fly wheel. It has been ported, polished, cam, vernier pulley, 4 branch manifold, decent exhaust and of course some webber tiwn 40's.
I have got a time of 16.4s@80mph at snata pod with out the twin 40's as i havent tested them on the quarter mile yet.
