just a few questions on em!
are they a bodyshop job or do they just clip in?? (doubt the second one!)
what audi model are they off??
are there any other handles that sit flush with bodywork that wouldnt need too much work?
thanks in advance

- They need to be welded in mate, so prob a body shop job
- they are on things like the audi 80 and most audis of that age
- think pug 405 handles sit pretty flush
Hope this helps

think most flush fit handles will have to be welded in

thought that might be the case
im guessing it'll be quite expensive for a body shop to do it??
shouldn't be too dear mate, all the have to do is cut round audi handles ( audi a3 handles are cool too) and cut round the nova handles, theweld audi inplace, shouldnt b hard to connect at the back. its the spraying that will kill ya, they may need to paint the whole door to get the colour right! but go for it.

flush handles look wicked on a nova.
Infact a decent set look better than it being de-handled.
Thats wot i think anyway.
I was going to go for Audi Door handles. I believe an Audi A4 (not the latest model) is the best car to get the door handles from.
I think it is a case of cutting out the Audi door handle then wekding it into the Nova door. However, I was told by a bodyshop, that connecting up the door handle can be a bit fiddly. I've gone for flushed door handles from another Vauxhall as the bodyshop said this will be easier to fit.

Its pretty expensive and it can be very hard doing the linkage if the handle has been fitted in the wrong place. Rick
astra mk3 handles r flush and don't need welding coz they can be fitted into a hole you can cut in ur door. also corsa C ones r nice but not completely flush. they are slightly bulbous (spelling)

flush some alloy buttons (flat one's, so they dont protrude) in instead.
Otherwise, Audi A4.
No welding - remove nova handles and get an engineer to make some billet/alloy ones with the same fixing, but different shape so they sit flush.
You can shave your existing nova handles to make them flush... cheap and cheerful!

shave them!?!? what with a bic?
seriously wouldnt that leave them too thin and weak??
and i think they stick out further than the bodywork anyway?
sounds like a good idea marty, dunno where the fuck im gonna find someone to do it tho!

all u have to do is..... seems like u have know idea what ur talking about perhaps u should not answer posts like this.
1/ find the handle u want
2/strip the door down and take glass out etc and prep the door around the area ur working on and min 6 inchs over
3/ cut around the handle over cut it
4/ cut old nova handle out about 1-2 inchs around.
5/line up and tac, putting the new handle surrounding inside the door skin.
6/test the handle linkages
7/if ok either spot weld them togeather or mig!
8/if mig doing it slowly and keep cooling it down with flanle and water to avoid distorstion.
9/ once done test linkage again to make sure.
10/once happy clean the area and surroundings inside the door and outside
11/smooth with the correct bodyfiller rub down and reaply till level
12/coat the inside of the door with a red oxide or other spray to suit
13/rub back your filler work to 320 also the surrounding area.
14/prime the area and surrounding using a high build primer.
15 bake it off or infa red lamps
16/flat back the primer blocking the area with 320 then dust 400 next then dust then 800 wet and dry. useing 800 go over ur primed area about no more than 5 inchs. rub the rest of the door with 1200 wet and dry using a block at all times.
17/rub the 1/4 pannel with 1200 wet and dry, and up the c pilla about half way or where suits the sprayer.
18/ dry it all off pannel wipe the area to be painted mask up the car sheet over the car.
19/pannel wipe again and tac rag it also.
20/base the primed area covering it.
21/blend up the door to the front and to the 1/4 pannel also or if paining whole door flick down 1/4 and wing.
22/once all flashed off and ur happy, put the clear on and loose the clear up the c pilla or where u like.
23/bake for 30 mins at 80.
24/take car out and fit up once its aired for a while.
25/flat and polish the clear if needed to.
thats in breif each step can have 10 little other things todo with it.
the spraying will change on the colour of the car. plus alot of places would not even do half that stuff.
price wise from 100 quid a side to 400+ a side although most places will discount if haveing lots done at one time.

is there nothing that will be a swap with the nova handles? cavalier's have flush handles dont they?
i BELIEVE MARTIN???????? (can't remember his surname!!), HE OF THE PINK AND BLUE AND WHITE 2.016V ON CARBS HAS SHAVED NOVA HANDLES, THEY APPARENTLY LOOK GOOD????
when it was pink it was on front cover of total vauxhall....
Anybody got any pictures?
I've got the TV feature when it was Pink. Not got any pics on the net of it though. Might be some knocking about.

Think its a toss up whether its worth putting them in at all or just de-handling it... however as Dan Payne says it a case of personnel choice... de-handling would be cheaper and easier... one thing i've noticed is that no-one has pointed out that the wings may also need to be stripped and blended if the paintwork is not perfect in the 1st place.
Worth doing on either a really really nice clean looking car... otherwise on a mad car u might as well go for some handles that actually have something to look @ like golf mk4 handles or something... that way u'll be actually notice the difference when its surrounded by a mad kit....
Just my idea on how to do things... hope u do something tho coz the standard handles are discusting

i wanna hear more about this shaving the handles down cos ive sin a nova with this but i wuda thort theyd be too thin
Martin Hill i think he's called???????????
Yeah his name is Martin Hill - His car started light mint green with gery bumpers wheels (looked best in this guise imo) then he colourcoded the bumpers, the sprayed the whole lot metallic pink and wheels to match, then went with the pink/white/blue paint design.
I can't find any pics pf the door handles but I know what Rick means about shaving them, use the standard mechanisms and handles but the grab part is a lot thinner then usual, not sure if it bolts to a plate, and he's just let the plate behind and filled it?
Yeah something like that! Can't remember exactly, but even Audi handles are coming commonplace now!
Try Porsche boxter ones or new corsa!!! Should be simple!
NOT!
My car is at the bodyshop for a full respray,
was considering flush door handles from a cavalier (rear handles)
thought it would suit the nova (90's vaux stylee),
even bought the handles, but scrapped the idea.....
Firstly, the handles looked too big for the door,
secondly, it's very difficult to get the door skin
absolutely flat after welding metal around the door handle.
See new FastCar Mag & you'll know what I mean,
look for the ripple around the door handle (no dis-respect intended)
So now I'm modding the standard handles...........
