2L project Nova

My mate is considering 'doing' up a Nova (again) :wink: and he wants some advice.... He currently drives a 1990 GTE 8v Astra and would use that as the donor car, the engine/ gearbox especially.

Few questions:-

1. Is the engine in the Astra 8v the 130bhp SEH?
2. Which model nova would make the best base for this project
3. Are they any common pitfalls, he should be aware of?

astra gte 8v are 122hp i think (dont quote me tho!)

2l 8v Seh engine is old cav sri engine 130bhp
2l 8v Ne engine is less powerfull but never version 115bhp i belive.

Why those?

It makes no real difference wich car you put it in, the best bet is to find the cleanest you can wich could be any of the models.
If anything the SRi is the worst to choose as it has the most complicated wiring off all the Novas.
