only a 1.4 for now, having a gas flowed head on at the same time, then cams when i can afford.

SR or SRI?

if SR find a 1.3 SR head and manifold same for SRI

1.4 head is crp with sqaure ports:P

u mean a 1.2 head ;)

yeah my mates gonna gas flow a 1.3 head for me, just gettin the money to buy the parts atm. had it about 4-5months now and its not quick enuf anymore, so a few little engine mods should do the trick for a while. :D

the sri head is better as standard than the 1.3 and 1.2 heads as its got bigger valves (same as gsi) so unless hes having valve work done if its an sri then use a sri(gsi) manifold for teh 40's

if its an sr use the 1200 CARB head since it flows better and will raise compression nicely :)

right i have a choice, i have been offered T40's but has come off a GSI for ?200, or i have been offer one off a 1.4,for ?300 ive been told the gsi wont fit cuz of the manifold being different.

neither will the 1400 if your using a 1300 head........

Manifolds as follows:

1.2 and 1.3 (inc nova sport manifold) FOR 1200 and 1300 8v head

1.4 Square shit SR ports FOR 1400 head only

1.4 sri 1.6 gte 1.6 gsi FOR 1400 SRI 1600 Heads

hope that makes sense.

1.2 and 1.3 heads are the same if not very similar and the then if thats the case the 1300 is better (1.2 has tiny tiny valves)

will

p.s. get the set for 200 as the 300 set is overpriced IMO, allthough i can really comment as i dont know details and wots included etc etc

are they both weber carbs? linkage included? o rings? brackets?....... etc etc

have you seen the valves on a 1.2 and 1.3 head will ???

the 1400 sr head has the same valves as the 1200 so that should be better due the the better shaped ports and increased compression.

i have not seen 1300 valves so im not commenting but from what i heard 1300 owners were fitting 1200 heads to get more poke ??

the manifold with the 1400 carbs is for a 1300

ok now im really confused, i have a 1.4 engine. i can either keep the 1.4 head or have a 1.3head fitted. Will the carbs that benji has fit? sorry to sound so stupid but im lost now. :?

get a 1200 carb head not a 1300

same head same valves more compression

might wanna look into an uprated cam while its in pieces

my carbs have a manifold for a 1300 but are set up for a 1400.

what you want is a head from a 1200 OR 1300, but not a 1400,unless its a sri, in which case you will have bigger valves but will need work done on the head to match it to the 1300 manifold.

this is what i was going for before i decide to sell them;
1400 bottom end
1400 SRi head, matched to
1300 inlet manifold for the t40's
ast2 cam.

might also be a good idea to get some arp rod bolts.

ok sound, cheers for clearing that one up. All is understood now.
