40 gb drive = ?40
352mb ram = ?45 (major on third)
p2 chip = bargain as the old one are hard to get hold of now

but on other hand if you go to the right places you can build a decent spec system for ?200 now

1800xp chip
256 ram
40gb drive

I never had a 486 but my dad did - first time i booted up the 120mhz when he was home i told him to boot his at the same time as mine was like lightening... (obvioulsy in retrospect it wasnt lol) so we booted up at the same time and i got mine booted, loaded COmmand & Conquer and got half way through the first mission before his made the tinkletinklebrrrinnng of logging onto windows.

I was dead chuffed with it!!

Anton, that light is much cooler than it looks - its shock sensative... adjustable sensativity with a dial on the back plugged into a pci slot - then any impact or vibrations ie music playing and the light pulses and changes colour and stuff depending on the settings on the back of the base unit - its fantastic!

My very first computer was an atari 2600 - but not the modern black one, the old wooden effect one. Then i had antoher console which was absolutely astounding, but no idea what it was - dads alsatian chewed it up when she was about 6 months old. A driving game on that was used in nightrider as his tracking system

Next up was the classic Sinclair Spectrum 48k from my uncle which had rubber keys and everything - then i got rid of that and got a Sinclair ZX Spectrum +2, which I still own, along with the power pack, loads of games and software on cassettes and all in mint condition. THe keyboard keys even squeek as they did when they were brand new.

I then had an atari 520ste which had extra ram put in so it was in actual fact a 2080ste - twice the power of my mates 1040st which really annoyed him lol. Then it was an Amiga 500 which i added extra memory to to make it 2mb of memory. I then sold the amiga and the atari and got an Amiga 1500 with twin 3.5 inch floppy drives and a 26megabyte hard drive. WOW!!! All my games were installed and didnt need the floppies to run like on all those new fangled amiga 600 & 1200's my mates had.

I sold the 1500 to my mate when i was bought my first pc... and since then it's been PC's all the way except when i bought an Amiga 600 on ebay for about 6 quid a year ago so me and my mates could play some old classic games.

I have also had a megadrive2, a NES, a gameboy, a SNES, and an N64. (goldeneye rules!)

might get the spectrum out later and have a play with it for old times sake.

Was that not one of the franchise games? I had it on my Commodore C16+4 and remember seeing it for spectrums.

KickStart was available on pretty much every computer system you could buy.

My favorite computer i have ever owned i would have to say was the Amiga - doesnt matter which as they all played each others games and ran the same software anyway - although my personal favorite was my customised 500+ with its upgraded memory and resprayed lid ;) Black and red - it was ace! teh envy of all my mates. I also sprayed my mouse gold lol.
