View Full Version : Custom Rear Arch Questions

Got 1 Mega Rusty Arch, A Set Of ET45 17"'s and logic tells me they don't go well togethor, so i have a plan, build wide arches !!! ... not the first person with this idea by a long shot, so i have 2 options i can think of,

1)chop the arch right up and weld a new one on (any idea's where i get one from)
2) chop them slightly, hammer them out and fibreglass them back into a normal shape.

any opinions or other idea's ???

If their really bad then i would just cut them out completly and put new ones in, they might last that bit longer then. I have just had all new arches put in on my nova, the only thing is i have a 5 door and are different to 3 doors.[/u]

Go for new ones. Chop the old ones of and before you fit the new ones flatten the arch lip to give you more clearence for the wheels. Sorted. :)

so where can i get rear arches ??? ... the same place i get all my other car parts from, or do i need to buy them somewhere "special" take it i just weld the new ones one.. tempted to get a set of wide rear arches now ...

just weld them on, im not sure where you can get them from as the bodyshop sorted it all out for me.

try these people ya can buy online and they are pretty cheap about ?8+vat for the rear arches

will mk2 rear arches fit on my mk1 ??? (coz they are wider)

if your wanting wide arches and are cutting out your old arches anyway then look at getting a set of arches of a 3 door vaux frontera and with a bit of cutting and welding and smoothing using these for your new arces and wide arch kit
