Heated rear screen

My heated rear windscreen was sacrificed when the flushed tailgate went on, could i run this to a new switch and to the ignition live? or woul this not work?

If i did this wold it work ok? do ui need exceptionally thin wire or woulod that be ok with normal wire?

has funny wiring... 30a fuse and will only work when the engine is running

could i do an in-line fuse? and run it to the live of say the HU?
