look gud in carbon
that they are.
except i decided to have them colourcoded. Makes them less likely to be nicked (though i prefer them in carbon, but had 3 diff kinds of mirrors nicked off my car last year). They're racing mirrors.
I made some brushed alloy baseplates for them, so they fit perfectly too i.e. No overlap seen from the inside of the car.
Though if you want the original/standard GM look (with your mantas), you should try and get hold of the blanking plate for the left mirror mounting point, and a Euro blanking plate for the right one. Pre Mk2. Think they'd be quite rare now though?
Also, PM Freak, he can get some for you. Though not seen him on the site for a while.

thats what i did with mine
Blanking plate for drivers side (ie LHD passenger side) is unobtainable anymore...went through hell for vaux to get me one from spain, and they told me that i had the last two off the shelf (i still have one somewhere- Breeny has just bought the last one from me :p)
Passenger side one is easy enough- just search for a base spec jobby at a scrappy and it will be there.
You also need the internal blanking plates (unless you want a hole visible) as they arent internally adjustable

can you use the internal ones on the outside? but the other way round ie drivers side fitted to passenger side and vice versa?
no
internal ones are too small and shaped and curve wrong to go on the outside ( i tried)
BASE PLATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make some out of carbon fibre!!!. Dave France made me some for my M3's (before they were common!)
He post's on here as "FEARLESS" ask him to make you some. he's pretty cheap!

No, my feet and hands are allways cold. I'm actually a snowman.
Funny you should also dislike my mirrors, because i only bought them because other mirrors kept getting nicked. So i thought 'i'll get the smallest, cheapest one's that no one will possibly want to nick'. lol
Except they were ?140, so still not that cheap. But look it. And havent been nicked yet. Which is their purpose.
Although, (again) almost every comment about the car has been a positive on the mirror front one (while the rest are complete opposites i.e. i love that bumper, i hate that bumper it's shit, one's), so your comment is just a drop in the ocean of ''love those mirrors, what are they'' comments. Although (again) 'i like'/'i dislike' comments are completely irrelevant to me anyway, since if i have CHOSEN something, i have done it for no other reason, than for a reason that concerns me.
It's like when you might wear something and someone says 'fucking hell, that's horrible'. In actual fact, it really is ''fuckin hell, i don't give a shit because you are not the one wearing it so your opinion is of no relevant concern''.
I dont even like my car all that much to be honest.

if you wanted cheap mirrors that no one would nick go for standard ones.

lol, yeah i know, but i'd thrown them away after i replaced them with aftermarket ones and if i was going to buy new one's (even if from a scrappy), i wanted something different.
Plus, it wouldn't look right with the rest of the kit and look of the car. I really like them now tho.
