ECU reset

Any1 know exactly what an Ecu reset does and how it works??

everyone's probably wondering why this topic is back at the top the reason is i too would like to know how, i know you can buy an ecu resetter but is there any other way like like a switch which say's "press here to reset"

Simple.....

Disconnect battery, leave for an hour,
re-connect battery, drive as normal....
Your Ecu will have adjusted itself.

Some technicians recommend an Ecu Reset
with every service.

I dont think there's much piont in doing this unless it's a learning ECU like the c20xe, cos that resets the map back to basic to then start learning again...im sure :?
