Looking nice, agree with breeny on the speakers.

What about Door cappings?

And i would have used GTE rear cards so they go all the way to the window and not finish 1" below it.

Speakers are kicker and sound amazing, a stealth shelve would only distort the sound. And i never got round to building door pods for the fronts. However this is the interior i had last year, and i plan a stripped out rear/false floor in the future, thats when i'll change everything.

Door cappings, i bought a set back in feb, and spent a good frustrating hour today trying to find them with no joy! :( So i'll have a look again when i'm off work next. I dont mind not having them anyways..

Looking great keith

Did you make them door cards yourself?

Get some kickwell speaker builds- hides them away and sounds better.

Have you got some buckets going in?

Keep it up- before you know it, it'll be summer again and show season!

Looks mint mate - 2nd pic looks well hard. All I would suggest is leave the bumper as is - no splitter!! Dont know what you think but for some reason i think the Gsi bumper looks as good with no splitter as it does with one.

Really is looking sweet !!!!

you might wanna get some moisturiser for your arse kieth - the licking it has taken here in this weather will leave it rather chapped. :o

Car is coming along nicely though mate, very nice looking car.

Its mine!! Before i rebuilt it...

so we are talking rebuilds/repaints for the sake of it now?

No?

I had the car at Trax 2002, i'd been using it daily. It was very clean, but was beginning to look a bit tired. So i drove it until janurary this year and then took it off the road for a Rebuild. Mostly because i wasnt entirely happy with it!

I've spent an absolute fortune on new parts. new GSI window surrounds etc.. So there are a few stuble differences from before. But the paintwork is much better, the car in general is cleaner and now completely rust free, few other touches like the louvred wings. The engine bay is seam welded and smoothed, to allow a big engine as and when i can insure it! But for now i'll stick with a nicely rebuild 1.3SR.

This was it before:

Cheers andy.. Yours might not be coming along as quickly, but it'll be a cracker when finished. If only i could insure your engine!!

I think i'm gonna take the plunge and fit a C20XE next winter. But just run it standard (for a while lol) I dont think i'll ever be 100% happy with the car until i've done that, as i've been druleing over valvers for years now!

Thanks Martin! Yeah i'm gonna leave the splitter off, because the ones i like are very deep, and always ended up either breaking them, or breaking the GSI bumper brackets through the stress of the splitter always catching. I want the car to be a little more sensible now!

wheres it going to be flocked ???

"Get Flocked" in Banbury...

Think the companys called Central Blast Cleaning, but they also run "Get Flocked"

They do Red and Black flock.. i'm gettin black cos red would look pants...lol

What u getting flocked - what prices have u been quoted ??

krobinson
01-11-03, 12:16 AM
For the complete dash ?80, they said that includes all the extras. Also getting the door grab handles etc done. And the center consol and dash under trays...

They said they can do complete door card's for ?25 each! Prices seem very good. I'll let you know what the quality of work is like when i get it all back.

That seem pretty cheap - when we got bretts done it was a lot more than that - but we used the company that does the dashes for ford focus WRC !!!! - Seems like you've got a bargin - I believe Mick does a good job !!

gotta say its coming on very well m8!

Back seats look goos (grey n black) - do them yereself?

Also - see the wings - with the vents in, have you done anything to the backs of them - eg but water catchers so the inner wings dont get fecked - or are you just slapping on the hammerite/sealer???

I have another Nova that i'll use to drive to work. But when i'm off i'll be driving it as and when i can (dry days). I want to enjoy the car, it isnt gonna be a trailer/show car. But i will drive it to shows.

Seats were covered by a guy from bangor (NI) who's friends with my dad through work. He did them in leatherette, which is the closest material you can get to leather, and i havent had anyone tell me its not leather before...lol But in the future i will be putting in a false floor and 2 fixed buckets, but these will do for this year.

Wings.. The wings are all sealed underneath, as are the inner arches. The vents lead into the same place as all the other crap the wheels throw up so it shouldnt make any difference really.

Looking mint Keith! Look forward to seeing it next year mate. Going to be some cracking novas about next year.

Second the comment on putting a euro rear cluster on the back mate, just changed my lights to euro ones and the back end looks alot better.

As for putting a splitter on, doubt you would get it on and off the ferry if you put one on mate! God knows how your mate got his cav on the ferry when you came over to trax this year.

P.S. dave, did you get bretts dash done by a company in Birmingham by any chance? Just that i have been down to a place near me and they said they have allresdy done a couple of nova dash's.

Cheers Karl.. I was actually gonna source a pair of the Red Clusters you have, because i wouldnt know where to start looking for euro ones!

I had bother with the splitter in 2001 on the boat, and after a while they look a bit tatty with getting scraped all the time, so i think i'll leave it off for now!

As for the Cavalier, we've finally talked him round to raising it up a bit, so coilsprings will have an order for -80mm spring soon, and the 1.5 coil's left of the standard springs are for the bin. Oh, and new rear shocks because the new spax are bust

I have just sold my red rear clusters mate to rick marland. Not sure why hes bought them though seeing as he has stripted his nova. Do i sense a secret rebuild???

Coil springs, you cant go wrong with those guys. If they say 80mm thats what you get. Will seem high to what it was though, the thing was on its arse!

krobinson
02-11-03, 02:11 PM
Yeah, i've yet to see a lower Cavalier... For you's that have never seen it... Back breaking to sit in, stunning to look at!

Nahhh i've bought a 5 door for getting to work and back till i find a decent cossie or a GTIR. It's an SR lookalike with black trim/3 spokes and has blue sprayed rear lights so i bought the red ones cos i like em.

You're getting as bad as jules with this rebuild thing!!!

lol.. Its an 1.8LS.. Was basic as they come, but a few months of hard work and you cant tell the difference from the outside. And its got diplomat leather inside..

He sold his alloys last night and now has the GSI rimms on, and it sits even lower. Out in the town and the cops raced passed and stoped us.

Officer "hmmm, what suspension you running son?"
Sy (my mate) "bosch adjustables sir"

lmao   Bosch grinder ;)
