Take one 1.2 grill, remove the bottom 2 slats, get very busy with the fibreglass to cover the top slats, smooth out with filler, rub down, smooth out with filler, rub down, smooth out with filler, rub down..................
Took ages to get it so there were no ripples, lumps or bumps in it, I have seen others where people have used a Astra GSi grill that they've modified to fir - maybe that's easier (Can't be much harder!!)
ya like that but on a mk2 grill

NFW!!! It took ages to make just one and gave me some impressive hand-blisterage!!!
I earn enough now so I don't need to do things like that!!
La-de-da!!!

do you recon i could do it on a 1.3sr grill i was jus gonna put bodyfiller mesh over top slats then filler over it till smooth
What type of SR grille? The one where it's moulded to the bumper or the later 2 piece one (Like the GTE's).
I expect it could be done on both but the one piece one would be harder as it'd need to be done on the car unless you take the whole front bumper off.

nah its the gte like one jus bought gte skirts + rear bumper off a mate for the bargain price of 20 quid bloody sale of the decade so what ya recon to the grill what do i look out for whats the hardest bit
Yeah it could be done but I'd still go and get a 1.2 grille from a scrapyard so if you mess it up the GTE one is still there if you need it. Also I used the GSi grill through winter and autumn, but for summer and most of spring I'd put my GTE one back on because of the temperatures.
Hardest bit is all the rubbing down to get it smooth so no ripples / lumps / bumps show when it's been sprayed. No real advice I can give there apart from take your time.
Also for the badge bit I bought a nice new badge from Vauxhall (Like the ones they use on modern Vauxhalls) and it fitted a treat, but make sure both sides of the 'circle' on your grille are as equal as possible though.
Have fun!!
