this happened to my mkI nova too, i think u will need to bleed the radiators cos it may have air bubbles in it, therefore causing the squeek.

i didnt bleed mine myself but i think all u need to do is keep the heaters running and pour water into it, and it should fill itself up and stop squeeking. ask someone who knows how to do it for deffinate.

the squeak is because the bushes have worn, and the impellor (fan thingy) is catching on the fan housing. the 'grinding' noise is probably a leaf in the intake. bubbles in the heater sound like 'bubbles' and the most common way to get rid of them is bleading out the cooling system (check haynes) if it is on a carb ohc engine, usually removing the temp sender for a short time whilst pouring extra coolant into the expansion bottle works fine.
remember, these cars have been around for a long time, and some bits just wear out......

so i jsut spray it into the heater itself?

Open bonnet, remove the plastic 'sheet' that covers around the wiper blade area, the thing in the middle is the motor, spray WD40 around the edges and it should cure it (Maybe have it running on 1 whilst spraying it).
