We all know that MK1 6 Dial Clocks have got CRAP lighting.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are such fings as high density (REALLY BRIGHT) clock bulbs dat fit into standard bulb holders?

Sumone once used LED's to light up da clocks but dat need new wiring (but id rather not do dat)

Thanx

yes from halfords we sell standard fitting dash bulbs. one is normal 1.2watt the other is a 2.3watt. (or 2.4) The 2.3 watt will be a lot brighter. 1.2watt is watt youll have in at the mo. so take out all your current ones and go buy about 8-10 2.3watt bulbs from halford. just to be sure take one of your old ones down with you and compare. (you'll have to take the bulb out of the holder, very fiddly. very.) both these bulbs are clear - a green tint is available which is what i did but theyre a 1.2watt so no brighter just green. could also be that your 1.2 watt bulbs are just old or on their way out as bulbs do 'fade' with age so a fresh set of 1.2watts could be ok for you. finally don't think having higher watt bulb will cause a prob in dash with reguards to heat - 2.3watt are a lot hotter than 1.2watt.
sorted. watts a watt not watt? a watt.
