need sum help

when i start my GSI in the mornings it taps like hell for a min or so

i presume this is cose the oil has not reached the head yet, wot can i do to cure this??

im using castrol GTX at the mo, the oil level is fine

thinking bout switching to Magnatec to stop the tapping, using this cured the taping on my 1.2

what color is the oil

if its black and gunky throw a can of engine flush thru it then put new stuff in

your right in thinkin its oil pressure related but more than likely the lifters are all gunked up cos of crap maintenance and they are taking a while to pump up fully when the oil is very cold (and hence thicker than normal)

maybe try a thinner oil like 10w40 although u'll have to watch as it may gobble it up fast depending on how worn the engine is

oil is black and had a complete engine rebuild bout 6000 miles ago

ive got a f50 vent on which dont help.

put the engine matting on which has helped stop moisture getting onto the engine.

ill try sum thinner oil on sat and put sum engine flush in before

thank alot

Exhaust manifold gasket could be dodgy?
Try tightening up the nuts on the studs!
If the full re-build was 6k ago, a nut or 2 could be lose!

i hadnt changed the oil for 2.5 years (22.5 K ) and the tappets were getting a little loud/siezed lol

ran some flush (wynns) through and its still noisy but hey its got clean oil in it lol

try comma semi synth (same as vauxhall)
