knokin noise

i have a 1.4i and every time i give the car revs their is a knokin noise comin from the engine, i dnt know wat it is, i have a new cam belt cost i thought the old one was knockin on the casein bt nope sill it knoks

can any 1 help?

well mate,

it could be ur big ends, how many miles has ur car dun?

it could be ur tappets but da noise would kinda be more like bag of spanners, like an old fiesta engine.

Could be piston slap, maybe ur fuel mixture is a lil weak (i fink)

dus it always happen or sumtimes? also dus it go away after a while?

Probably pre-igntion (pinking) get the timing looked at and adjusted.

1.4i should have fixed dizzy and auto timing adjustment so its unlikely to be that

can u describe the noise?

is it a constant ticking? tapping? clunking? does it only do it while "accellerating" and goes away if u say hold it at 3000rpm?

does it do it if revved in neutral or while driving?

theres hundereds of things from big ends to the engine mounts depending on how and when it happens - could even be the exhaust hitting summat
