Slam Panel - VIN plate

Im hoping to have my engine bay re-sprayed and i was wondering about the 2 vin plate things on the slam planel.
Can you get new ones made up so you can attach them after the respay or do you just drill the old ones out and re-use??

drill rivites out then refit after wards.... best to paint strip and repaint the option pannel so the colour matches.... but doesn't get too smooth

the vin plate is needed. my car failed mot, and is a bit*h to get hold of.
first, you need a police report (copper said if he weren't happy, he was going to impound my car).
then you go to local vauxhall dealers who orders it.
they need the police report, insurance details and driving license(i had an arguement over this, the principle of it)
ohh yeah, it cost's.......?50. plus they have to fit it too. so plus 1 hours labour at ?35.

moral of story. keep them!
