tuning a 1.4

just had insurance quotes thru for this year and looks like i gotta stick wit a 1.4 for now. I need more power and speed. Any idea's?????

mate theres alot u could do to them 1.4:
firstly change the the cylinder head n manifold for a 1.3 item and that should give u between 5-10bhp.
secondly slap a weber 32/34 and put it on the rollers to get it jetted and u should see 85-90bhp easily.

decent setup for a 1.4 looks something like this.

14sr (14nv) bottom end
1.2 carb nova head
1.3sr inlet manifold(modified to match carb inlet)
14sr (14nv) cam
nova gte exhaust system or ashley full system(only mentioned as there fairly cheap)
webber 32/34 carb

this setup should see you on your way to 100bhp

or you could consider twin 40's aswell
