No revs???

Aright,

Wonder if anyone can give me some advise. My car ticks over at about 900rpm which is all fine but when I put my foot down slightly on the excellerator the revs go straight up to about 3k rpm and from there on it acts normal. I know it's nothing to do with the peddle or cable because it still does the same thing when I rev the car from under the bonnet. It's a pain in the A?$e in slow traffic and chilled driving in general! N E ideas???

interesting - ive been looking for the answer to this myself

mine does it exactly the same and i cant work out why

locky suggested knocking back the timing but this had no effect on mine

Oh right. Mine did when I bought the car and i've had a full engine re-build this year and it still does it! I think it's something to do with the inlet manifold - not sure what though. Let me know if u ever find out anything, dito.
