I cant belive the amount of torque steer my GTE has, have been driving a 2.0l 16v around for a few months and never noticed it.
Been driving my GTE for about 6 weeks and its amazing how much more there is on the 1600 than the 2.0l.

When i first drove my GSi when i bought it i thought that was bad but them when driving the 2.0l i thought i had got used to it as noticed there wasnt much, but crikey i nearly wrote my GTE off earlier one wheel lifted off the ground and just spun :!:

I belive the 2.0l was removed.

I am going to chat to you about the anti roll bar situation next Sunday, will take you out for a spin so you can see how bad it is.

As this has rolled up again that is the link to our original discussion i started a little while ago, it makes for interesting reading and may help people decide whats best for them as i think it does cover most things. Obv the findings are our own personal views so should only be taken as a guide.

Torque steer is a good sign of worn TCA bushes or bottom arm bushes/ball joints.

Would make sense with a few little squeaks i got.

Offset is et49

You must drive like a lunatic Ben. You say you get through Toyo Proxys in a month and now you have one wheel lifting off the ground...Dude, sounds like you need to ease off the throttle a bit, LOL.

I am not a Lunatic at all, i drive quite safely.

Im not into doing wheelspins etc. I do take roundabout fast and do drive quick but i am not reckless in any way.

What is torque steer? Never heard of it!
Is it when you lay down the power, and the steering wheel is needed to be held tight 2 go straight?

Basically yes.

When the hub was worn out on my red GSi the torque steer was horrendous. It had a knackered ball joint and where it had been left for so long it had worn the locating hole in the bottom of the hub oval so you could tighten the pinch bolt att he bottom.
