In this months Max Power there is a white Nova 1.4sr. It looks nice and all that but when i was reading the tech spec I thought 'do they know anything?!!?!'

It had twin weber 40's, cam, filter and zorst and Max Power said it had 70bhp (when they are 72bhp standard?!?!) and a 0-60 time of 14.5 seconds!! (a standard 1.2 does it in a quicker time than that!)

And another thing...if ford owners etc think that nova's are wank and dated...how come nearly every issue there is a nova featured in most of the main magazines? And not all of them are turbo nutters bastards, they are just cleanly styled...for a 10+ year old ford to get in a magazine, it takes about ?10k and a 4.0 twin turbo 1000bhp engine (got carried away a bit there) nova's will get more popular by the year, which is good cos if gives more incentive to make yours unique...big up the nova boyz..!

I know what you mean, is'nt it Max Power that says the Nova SRi has something like 60bhp, they have it mixed up with the single point injection boggo standard 1.4
Loads of peeps have said to have emailed/wrote/contacted them, but it still says 60bhp!
Arse.

I`ve read the article too, and was amused at the power figures. If he new anything though, he`d ditch the airbox. Why have 3x30mm inlets, and then reduce it all down to one inlet of 40mm, I tell u why, coz its shiny! :P

sorry mate but you say an sr has 72 bhp, i've heard it depends!
1.3sr=70
1.4sr(pre'91)=72
1.4sr('91-)=82
1.4sri=82
apparently vauxhall put the sr's bhp up! don't know what they did. that's one of the reasons later novas are more expensive to insure and go a bit better!
i've been told this by vauxhall, and there's a website that has the details, not sure what one!? maybe www.vauxhall.co.uk? Mc u love that! :D
