Hello all!
Been here for a while, but never really got involved. This is my car:
http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=1118
Opinions please, good and bad all appreciated.
Whats the best way to go with my car? Was thinkin GSi front bumper with big mouth then paint both bumpers in dark grey, then re-furb my wheels and get them done in the same colour?
How can i get more involved in novaload like the regulars?
Cheers guys (and gurlz)
LeRoy
You just get involved by either trying to be as helpful as possible (Look at Cambridge, Dicko, Aaragon or Ade), being critical of everything (Ste_Sa and me sometimes) or just spam all the time (Wisewood, N0va, Mike Oxford........................)
Edit - I'll make some comments on your car once it's been verified!!

its verified now.
OK so it's comment time.........
Looks nice, I think that colour (Breeze Blue) will look excellent with GSi front bumper in grey, rear bumper the same colour, and some nice 16"s also in the same colour grey, then a bit of lowering here and there and you're sorted (Just like you said you were thinking of doing pretty much!!)
:D
im over critical, well not really, im just nosey and have an opinion on everything

Looks good mate, I love nova's in breeze blue! I like your plans too!
As for PNG, or PCC... I'll continue to stay with them until something better comes along, or until they go completely down the pan.. which by the looks of things is soon..lol

Hope you all don't mind me butting in, but i always read through this site but never write anything, but i always see you car Krobinson on your posts and i think it is trueley stunning. I have always said that vauxhall should have made a gsi in that colour and i always wanted to respray mine in it but didn't have the nerve! Just thought i'd let you know!
Caroline.

Yeah but you've got one of the few L reg GSi (Well I assume so by your username!!) and I'd rather have one of those than Keiths car - No offence to Keith as he knows I love his car!!!

I have had this debate with lots of people and the fact is no one can prove how many were made, i know there is one M reg gsi sat in a garage in Durham i think which has only done a few thousand miles and my boyfriend saw an M reg van the other day! I have been told there was about 20 odd L reg gsi's made, i have one and my brother has one also which he will be selling in the near future!
Ahh so it was your L reg GSi with the dent in at Billing, nice sign

Yes, it was my car, only had it back from the bodyshop 2 weeks and that's what my boyfriends dad did. Gutted.
Yeah saw you get in it and drive off, me and my friend saw the sign and thought, i hope the owner is a girl!

Yeah lol.
Car is nice and clean though, was it you that had the L reg one wich was bare metal restored?
LregNovagsi

Yes it was bare metal restored, but what do you mean was it me? Have you heard about it elsewhere or something?
Nah i saw a L reg GSi at PV with the restoration pictures in it, but you didnt have them at Billing, was unsure if it was the same car as all the L reg GSi's seem to be silver.

I was only at pv, and yes it was my car with all the pics on the parcel shelf, if you mean that other L plate that you saw at Billing, i think its owned by someone who runs pcc, got 15''s on i think and is rather rusty what i can remember! That's the only other silver Lreg gsi i have ever seen, seen 2 white ones and a red one lives near me apparently.
You just said it was you at Biling, im confused!
I know Jason's car the L reg one with 15"s.

There's 2 or 3 L reg novas around Stockport that aren't GSi's they are just base models I think.
Most common L reg Model is the Van, there loads of them.

Few! All got a bit confusing there!
I have seen 1 lux+ on an L, i'm 99% sure they didn't make any sr's or sri's on an L, but i really would like to find someone who knows how many were made or if there is any bumf about it. My brother went in to Vauxhall when i first got it and ordered a part for it, they asked what reg it was and he said L and they wouldn't beleive they made them, the guy got all his managers out and they were saying to my brother he was a lier! So i took my car down one day to show them and they still didn't believe it, they said i'd gone out and had the plates made up and stuck them on! :?
There were actually NO L reg models made as they were all made for the K reg 92/93 model just late registered.
LregNovagsi
18-10-03, 06:15 PM
No, they did make a 94 L reg, there's one on the internet for sale at the mo somewhere? Its all down to when they were registered, myn hasn't got a cat on and never has had so that was obviously made a lot earlier on!
seen a burgundy poverty spec L reg
The Nova Production line was removed in late 1993 so its impossible to be made in 1994.
Like i said they were just registered later.
My brother has a genuine metallic black S reg Astra MKIII GSi - Try and find one of them then (Heard that they are VERY rare!!)
:P
I have seen one S reg Astra GSi.
Want one too, the R reg are rare but the S's woooo
Yeah it happens quite a lot with ford. Cossies (big wing 3door sierra) was only made 1986-1987, but there are a few e-f reg ones. They halted production and started the sapphire in 87 and they are available on a d-plate. One 3door was kept in a garage and registered in 2000 on an x-plate! Seen it at RSOC in 2001 at Lightwater Valley in Yorkshire!
S1 RS turbo's were only built 1984-1985, but there are a couple of e-reg and d-reg ones
The mk4 xr3i cabriolet was not made after 1990, but there are loads on a jplate and a couple of kplate (i owned a jplate one for a while!)
The corsa started being built in 1993 (you do see k-reg ones!) at the Zaragoza factory in spain, that was totally re-fitted out to build corsas so the last NOVA'S manufactured could have only been built in 1993 and as rightly pointed out, late registered. Hell, i've even seen a 1.4sr mk1 nova on a j-plate in Manchester!!
Just think, if I had bought a GSI on 1992/1993 and just garaged it unregistered....
I have seen one S reg Astra GSi.
Want one too, the R reg are rare but the S's woooo
My brother had a R and a S reg until last weekend when he sold the R reg one.
He looked for a R reg in black but could only find red so he bought it and then 2 weeks later saw the S reg in the colour he wanted, so he bought that aswell, he kept the red one in a garage for 6 months, then when my old man got on to him about moving it, he sold it!!!
He's on the lookout for a Astra TS200 so I've got my eye on his black S plate GSi..........
Yeah but R/S reg gsi astras are a limited edition re-issue. They have the ecotec engine and different mirrors/no bonnet vents/sideskirts/rear spoiler/interior trim to the original (c20xe) GSI astra.
A few people have bought thm and put LET's in them and changed the bodykit to the old-style (c20xe)version...
OK, they don't have the vented bonnets, they don't have XE engines, They don't have the same skirts as the early GSi's
They DO have Irmscher sideskirts, the DO have the same rear spoiler (With a 3rd brake light), The do have the Ecotec engine.
Mirrors? Not compared the two but I know the late ones are manual and not electric, Also what's the difference between interiors? I know the late ones are black like the early ones and the seats seem to have a better trim pattern but apart from that they seem the same?
They also come with a lot less rust and miles (Generally speaking) than the early ones aswell!!
:P
Fair comment Jules, i was just saying they weren't really the same car!!!
The seat trim is different, the mirrors are a different shape completely and the spoiler is different with the addition of a 3rd brakelight, as correctly noted by you....(where do we learn this shit? I've never consciously studied astra's in my life!!!!)
I was only explaining to anyone without that knowledge (that you obviously have!) that an R or S reg astra GSI is NOT an old 1992/1993 model that hasn't been registered until 1998 or whatever!!!
I'd love an m-reg nova thoughth! that would be top drawer!
You'd have to put a LET in it and buy the private plate .........................

/me is self taught semi-Astra g33k!!!
:P
Wasn't having a go or anything, just thought I'd point out a few things, kinda contrdicted myself with the "The rear spoilers are the same except....." bit - if they're the same there wouldn't be any exceptions!!!
