I was thinking of getting my tailgate flushed when the GTE is in the bodyshop but was talking to Fester last night and he said not to go near the flush panel of supernovas as they are major hassle.

Any others had any problems with them as i know he can be a fussy bugger :!:

Nah im not tino messing with filler etc as i have only ever seen 2 properly smoothed tailgates that i would own but the panel seemed a good idea.

I would buy one of the guy on ebay who sells them less than SN.

Lol - Might have something to do with both of you having similar Avatars....Front corners of white nova's...Yes I know they are COMPLETELY different cars, but at a quick glance I mixed them up.....lol

the fibreglass one looks good on its own but when added to the nova it looks weird - you do need to mod it a fair bit and back full the revessed area with foam or summut to prevent it being puched in or curving.

TBH you'd also need to do some smoothing on the edges and feather in the top bits to around the sides - alot of work for a good looking job.

I'm seriously considering a sgheet of perspex over the recess right across the entire rear bottom section, smoothed to the angle of the hatch as it slopes away (just run a sander along the edge slowly and carefully), then blend the edges. Much easier. Bond with epoxy resin. Back fill the recess with expanding foam or styrene and cap the underside with a cut sheet of perspex.

You'll have a perfectly smooth flush in no time and in theory it shouldnt look out of place...

or just chop the top of the supernovas panel and then the edges/bottom are allready done for you
