View Full Version : My names Neil and im a pic-a-holic, even more pics, Interior
Got pics of inside my car today, ive done it all in that black sub box carpet, as my car is red on the inside something needed doing. just like the grey and black look inside. In all it's all taken me weeks and weeks doing bit by bit. but i think it looks better, It doesn't look 'too' black as it goes with the dash, best thing is that it's totally dark in back now  .
id love ur opinions plz...

Where TV goes, u can see where it slots in and how ive blocked off the cold vent, black painted cardboard glued on, hehe. When TV is not in i cover it with....believe it or not, black carpet flap!

errrm, what can i say.
the boot trimming looks cool and well tidy like, spoilt a bit by the sub box etc being so messy
again, door cards look nice but grey seats dash spoils the look.
looks very tidy though and looks like a proper job. well in
but a max power sticker :o
ok few things i forgot to state,
Seats - being replaced by black bucket/recliner seats.
Max power sticker - has sentimental value, wen i first brought my car that was first thing i EVER did to it and got me into modding, was driving around and he put it there, read it again tho 8)
Sub boxes - only tempary at mo, might be getting rid with rollcage or tidying that up, there only there for sound at mo, its till work in progress.
I am very please with how the trims have turned out.
How long did it take to do the front door cards?

max pooer
like it. just need to make a breadline one now
it took about 3 hours or so, way i did it was this...
Took door card off car (obvuiously  )
Unscrewed the handle and tray from back pannel,
Covered back pannel, the the handle and tray, EVERYTHING is covered, not left any bits showing, even the bits u cant see!
Then screwed it all back and on car,
Dont sound much but it's the cutting and glueing and holding, best tip i found was to use washing line pegs to hold the fabric on while glue dry's. Best glue i found was was this spray ADESIVE stuff from Hobbycraft, big can, bout ?5'er i think.
Well worth doing, especialy now it's all done.

like i said yesterday - the pictures you have posted dont do your car any justice.
i met niel yesterday and had a proper look round the car- its a fantastic colour!! loads better in the sunloight than the pictures
and the wheels look so difrent to anything ive ever seen!!
cheers steve, i still want your engine though, something fast!
To be honest i am HAPPY with my car, its first time in ages i can say that since respray n that.
But it's all coming along, so if someone looks at my car then can see it how it should be, all one colour, interior finished, all looking finished. Still engine to do but that will come when OnePhatNova sorts me out a fantastic price on his engine parts, hint hint!
But yeah, im pleased with it and am enjoying it.

u fixed the latest crash damage? wasnt one of the wheels scratched?
Flush mount the rev counter it lets it all down.
eh flush mount?
It's a voltmeter and it tells me when my battery is going dead when listening to music and watching dvd's, so its quite important, wouldn't have it otherwise!
Flush mount your voltmeter then :!:
lol
oh and the car is still awaiting money from insurance to be fixed, it hasn't afected cars driving, its just scratches, wheel is scratched but it ok to drive. so gonna leave it till i get the money.

What are the door cards like to touch? I like the look of it but dunno what they would feel like. I really like the look of the rear side pannels though.
really soft and warm, if that makes sence, it's really nice actually, like a little kitten stappled to my door over and over again!

just need a few scatter cushions and some lace draped over the seats for a trully 'comfy' look. lol

If you want my honest opinon, then I'm sorry, but I think you've gone a bit mad with the black acoustic cloth.
I agree with the comment about the boot, the Subs look untidy as though they've been thrown in and not really thought about.
At the end of the day, it's your car so if your happy with it, then thats all that matters.
I don't mean to sound out of order, but you can't expect to do modifications that everyone will like.

Neil - my missus has some spare gsi seat covers, she might let you have them cheap if i ask nicely. Just remove yours and fit the new ones.

that interior looks fucking gash... just get an idea what u want. then collect parts and ?? till you can do it all in one go... currently it looks like you have had 20 aborted ideas about the inside and not finished any of them!!

Sorry, but i also think it doesnt look right...
Maybe try a different material? Sub box material is for sub boxes/boot builds.. i dont think it suits door cards :?

cant resist a good pussy
yeah i know and u gave us the photos to prove it once upon a time!!!!
nice retrim neil. it looks really smartly done the cards etc do.
Like the little bit that goes over the boot lip by the hatch. Wanna get one of the plastic ones from the old nova vans.
The prob is its not complete so looks a little odd - grey and black. I reckon you should get a GSi carpet - theyre dark grey and would lok mint. Also - either spray or change the door handles to black - GSi again are black as standard...
Cant really see the back panels. The seats will look good once changed over - standard ones look out of place.
Door cards look cool - reminds me of an afro. Surrounded by afros - a dude mobile
Who loves ya baby!
I think when its done it will look good - currently "work in progress"
8)
Be good to see finished project.
GSI carpet is light grey like all mk2
all mk2 carpet is the same.........
not all - m8's got a silk violet GSi and its all dark grey inside - standard too (minted).
I got a dark grey carpet from an old SRi for mine from a scrappy for ?5!

Oh, you didnt say it was work in progress :|
Jim
All mk2 carpet is grey. Limited edition mk1s had a slightly darker grey carpet. Take pictures Ade cos I havn't seen a single black carpet yet!
In my old blue car I had the darker grey carpet out of Robs old "Starfire"
Neil what the hell is on the rear bench? And why on earth have you got a max power sticker on your hazard switch!
