i've got a 3dr nova 1.2 flair, i just but my alloys on, 15" fox evo 6's with 195/50 tyres but if i have 4 people in the car (inc me) the rear arches rub the tyres, with 3 people its ok, but wen i accelerate hard the back goes down and the rubbing starts again!! its fine with 2 people. wat options do i have to stop this, i know i could get lower profile tyres, 45 or even 40, i dont know how far i'd have to go. the shocks r fine so its not them, wat else can i do!!!

cheers

ps thanks for the brake advice before, i swapped them, and im stopping fine now!!

depends on the offset of the alloys too

if they are ET38;s you'llo be struggling

45+ and u should be alright - either fit decent quality 45's or roll the arch lips, or both

...45+ OK unless rims are 7.5" or wider. Will seriously scrub rear dampers! Need spacers to fix that. (See signature)

rolling the lips probly wont help if you check your tyres there most likly rubbing on the inside against your inner arce 45 profile will help but for best results take out your rear seats and make ya mates walk!!! :P

depends on where its rubbing on the tyre.

If its rubbing on the tyre wall arches need either rolled or ground back a little.

If its the top or the edge then its the inner arch as it curves which means the wheels bottoming out onthe underside of the car = too much weight in the back.

Novas only really good with 3 max in the back. Anymore and youll have probs - especialy with alloys. Not much space either!

the alloys are et49, the vauxhall offset, i bought them for my astra mk3 originally, they don't rub on the inside just the outside of the arch, i think im gonna get low profiles and bend the metal up or cut it away, it comes down then does a 90 deg turn towards the tyre for about 1cm, if i get rid of this just where it curves around then i think i will be ok.

@ ste_sa, thats how i want mine lokking, fuking low!!!! what have u done to it?

cheers
