I spent ?11,000 on my first nova (1993-2001) which was 1.2sxi converted to full GSI spec in '98. Over that time I ad 3 different interiors, 5 sets of wheels, 6 stereo installs, 3 exhausts!!!!!!!!!

My second nova 1999-2003 (valver that i have recently broken) cost around ?6000 from bare shell to finished article. That just shows I was more decisive(only had 3 sets of wheels!!!!) and knew people who could sort things, instead of paying through the nose!!!!!

?2000 was spent on it in 2001 (respray and new panels) but that was paid for by the insurance. I was sat at traffic lights and a woman(!) bumped the back of me and my regular bodyshop made the dameage cosmetically "worse" to get a bigger payout, then sorted loads of new panels etc

Grand total of ?19,000!!! For over ten years of motoring, that's not really a bad return......

But why am i 30 and hankering after shoebox sized cars with bus sized engines??? LMFAO

1.2 merit, 1.3L 5door and a 1.3SR - in total i spent about ... ooh let me think - 250 quid buying them as i got two for free lol.

Mods didnt really run to much as i didnt do much - SR interior for the merit, and some second hand LXi alloys came to about 200 quid.

If sum1 wants summin, dey will get it, no matter if uv got a ?1000 alarm on ur car, it mite make their job 2 minutes longer to take it, and for all that extra money it aint worth it.

Coz alarms dont jump out the car and hit people they simply sound to try and deter theives like the one i have does.

prob a few grand. Most of theat is mechanics when it was standard and a couple of new engines at the start of this year!

Did a full rebuild for under ?1k including diy respray and full GSi upgrade (except engine) - car was pretty shagged at the time.

The next project will be done over 18 months so the total cost will be much but not much in real terms (funded by model novas hopefully! :wink: )

i've known car thieves steal head units even without the facia on it simply because they often have a stack of them at home and also a fair few odd facia's which they have aquired in house robbery or bag snatching.

some very dodgy people about mate - and car thieves aint as stupid as you might think... :lol: most of my sisters boyfriends seem to be that sort of person at the moment. Very annoying.
