I expect the amp is clipping (Safety design to stop you blowing your sub that you seem intent on doing). Turn the bass down (Or the gain on the amp), then turn the volume up and see if it still does it.

Have you turned the gain down on the amp? I'm not talking about adjusting the bass on the headunit here, look on the amp and there should be a dial to adjust the input gain on the channels you're running the subs(s) off, turn that right down and try it, then trun it up a bit at a time and try it again, repeat untill happy.

Ok so when it cuts out what happens (Answer yes or no to the below questions)

1) The stereo stays on but the bass cuts out?

2) The stereo goes off and I lose all sounds?

3) The bass stays on and the rest of the sound is lost?

4) Did you wire the stereo and amp yourself?

5) Are all the earthing points on the amp and stereo good?

6) Are all the connection to headunit and amp sound?

7) Is the connection between amp and sub good?

So the stereo cut out completely? Does it actually go off (As in all lights go off, music stops etc etc) or does the sound just go off but the headunit stays on?

DONT WORRY THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS REPOSITIONING MY HEAD UNIT. I JUST ENDED UP TAKING IT OUT AND REWIRING THE WHOLE THING AGAIN. IF THAT DONT WORK THEN SUNTHINGS FAULTY! JUST CHECK THE COMPONENTS INDIVIDUALLY. USE A M8S CAR TO TEST IT ALL.
MY PROBLEM WAS THE SECONDARY FUSE WAS ONLY JUST TOUCHING, SO THE POWER KEPT GOING. JUST THE SAME WAY YOURS SOUNDS TO BE DOING.
