Right folks,

Im sick and tired of seeing text messege style posts i.e "wat do u av 2 do 2 get dis 2 wrk on ..... blah blah"

It takes twice as long to read and influences bad habits to others (I have on occasion typed rubbish like that after reading a few posts)

Typos are natural cock ups and hey were only human lol, but there is no need to do an america on our language, and butcher it.

Im not talking about censoring peoples right to talk etc, but i dont want to struggle to read a post, then ignore it, when i could have helped or something. What i would like is for the people themselves (thats you lot) to type normally, it dosent take any longer to do.

Things like legitimate abreviations are fine (aslong as they are common use ones).

im with cambridge (although i have put up posts like that from time to time) in some cases there have been time when i have went to read post and there have been that many abbreviations used i havent a clue as to whats been said.

I agree. The butchering of our language should stop. It is very hard to read. Most of the time it probably takes longer to type using that manner as you have to think about which Ali G word you need first.

I have also noticed the errors in peoples english when words are misused. The most common ones that are always posted are "ignorance" and "ignorant". Ignorance is the lack of knowledge or being uninformed. An ignorant person is someone with the lack of knowledge in a one or more areas. Someone is not ignorant if they are not a very nice individual. In addition they are not ignorant if they have pissed you off and you just want to insult them (they may be a wanker but they are not ignorant). Use words in the correct places.

Sometimes I wonder if certain people who post on here have ever visited a school.

I agree with cambridge on this one, the way we have had an influx of new members with an apparent built in shite convertor is worrying.

"oooh i am on the internet, i must talk like a twat" seems to go through some people's minds. Have seen the missus' younger brother going it a few times, although he does talk funny anyway. :lol: THing its some sort of local 15 year old code or something.
