ok i posted this a while ago but i still not fixed it.
basicaly car isnt 'that' stable, it juddered over 110mph (tested on private airfield of course). now its doing it at much lower speeds. also today i heard a fair knock/clonk as i pulled out of a side street quickly turning left.
my initial thoughts were trackrod ends, but there is no play in those, iv also replaced the bottom ball joints. iv checked the tie bars and they seem ok.
somebody has mentioned the top mounts (bearings?) so i will be checking those out tomorrow. bascialy i need it fixing ASAP so i will try anything people suggest tomorrow. (unless u say sit on gearstick etc  )

cheers

The knocking could be the cv joint and the the juddering could be a wheel bearing or an unbalanced wheel. Dont take my word for it though

had new cv joints mate, also its 1 knock, not same as fcked cv!! its EXACTLY like when my ball joint went, but its not them hehe

im gonna swop front/back wheels over then go get tracking checked, thats how i knew it was balljoint last time as the guys doing tracking told me ;)

you checked steering rack for play?

It might just be something thats gone loose over time and needs tightening up. Or probably something thats worn out. Its just trying to find out what it is though

was gonna suggest this myself. i have had very similar problem and steering rack replacement solved it.

Yeah I reckon top mount bearing, I had a similar Problem and it turned out to be that. It kept clonking and clicking over small bumps.

But is wasn't a big knock, more of a quiet clonk. Worth looking at.

Im going thru this myself. I reckon it could be ball joints (originals), steering rack, dry top mounts (vaux mechnix idea) and check tie bar bushes, they are incredibly stressed under braking & acceleration.
GOOD LUCK........... i need it.

ive had wishbone bolts wear down and give clonking noise under braking/acc.
