go for nice electronically controlled throttle bodies every time
there a bit more expensive than carbs tho :(
if your only after acceleration go for carbs (T45's) decent cams and most of all a decent gearbox 3.94fD minimum etc
look for Chris Tunniclifffffeee( oh like i care how its spelt lol) blueish 2l 16 in the features

mabey fitting a Turbo as standard on some of the other high spec engines may be a cheaper option. But might mean you need the valves, pistons aswell to cope with the extra heat?

Why would Fitting Carbs make it quicker acceleration than fitting Throttle Bodies Cambridge?
Do they give better Torque or something?

cool are they off the gte/gsi? can u fit a lsd to them? will that give me quicker accelaration?? but not good top end?
well put it this way carbs will cost say ?350 (ish) to get and setup
TB's will cost about ?1500
TB's give the ability to get more power, but with no massive gain in torque.
so its a swings and roundabouts thing in your case.
as i said chris t does ok on his twin 45'd 20xe, about 200bhp at the last setup lol (that is with mappable ignition though)
