right ppl, iv just got my renewal through for my insurance,
tesco have asked for ?990, the only thing is tesco charge shit loads for modifications and as im planning on putting a gsi lump in mine, tesco=not good

iv just phoned HIC and they wanted ?1100 as standard, but free for modifications :D .......but for the gsi engine they wanted ?2500!!! :o :x

so my question is, is anyone insured with/know of a company thats mod' friendly and not too expensive..............

Cheers

Dan

right lets work theu this bit by bit..............

was your quote for TPFT or fully comp?

HIC are crap with fully comp quotes for uner 25 so thats your 1st port of call.

2. go on mig and see one of abt 3 billion posts at phill newman and when your gin ask for him and mention migweb, u will get discount for this, he seems to be doign mad deals at the mo for ppl.

1 yrs ncb is 35%

your postcode might not be the best im not sure (this is not a dig at you in anyway i am just saying things that effect your premium)

19 is the youngest age HIC insure

?1100 still seems a lot, if u had been driving 2 yrs and had no crashes (i know it wasnt your fault) it might well be cheaper.

tesco is correctly not the bset for mods and as for engine mods lmfao dont bother!!

GSI engine:

Your 19 m8, a gsi engine is group 11 insurance

your 1.2 is group 3 insurance

i am 20 with fair postcode 2 yrs ncb 0 points 0 crashes been driving 3 yrs

?1100 for a year on gsi still a lot but thats a fair enought price i changed half way through the yr to this so that 1100 is wot it wud have been if i paid for the whole yr etc

perhaps look at a 1.4 and tuning the 1.4 to 90bhp (i have done this) the insurance for that was ?498 with above details etc etc with HIC!!

the mods are cool HIC so ?1500 of free body mods cover et

Limited miles:

This will give u loads of discount but dont say ur going to travel 3k miles and then do 30k miles a year, poicy wont be valid!! try for a 5k limit if u can and u will get a big discount!

hope this has helped sorry its all a bit of a jumble

pm me for more info cause i can go on forever abt this sort of thing.........

other companys:

LV
Flux
Priviledge

there are others have a nose abt etc

p.s. GSI engine will not be cheap, id advise going for SRI if u want an injection engine, cheaper to nsure and easy enought to push 100bhp out of........... ask aragorn for more info on this

(SRI bottem end, gsi head cam etc etc ;) )

will

:o theres loads!

right so, just say i still go for the gsi lump, with hic, but limit my mileage to 5k, go tpft and try and get a discount off this bloke on mig, ya think it will make much difference??

(im not ignoring your comment about the 1.4sri, iv just kinda got my heart set on a gsi lump at the mo!)

Thanks

said if i was to put a gsi lump in it then it would be ?1700, which isnt too bad for my age! so gsi lump here i come!!! :D :D
