Locky,

1400 or 1600? Hmm... The great debate, You could be competitive in either class for a similar budget. My advice would be to get the newer type 16v engine, pocket the STD pistons, fit a pair of rally cams, proper bottom end bolts, 40's or 45's and if budget allows an MBE or DTA mappable ignition system. Don't get Me wrong I don't know your budget, but whatever You've set it's going to cost You more anyway!!! For clubman rallying which You have got to start off in there is only classes for engine capacity and not modified or std (Group N). The more You Spend the faster You go, it's as simple as that.

Once You've decided on engine size there's then the question of what size wheels to run, 13" 14" or 15" . Then there's what box/slip to run, it just goes on and on!!!

The best advice I can give is speak to people who are actually competing and running Nova's, not people who think they know what they're talking about.

Locky, How ya doing fella. Why not try Road rallies?

There well cheap and funn and give a decent insite of the sport. Plus you can use a pretty much standard car with a few mods

I bought a nova Sr to go road rallies, but things fucked up and i never got to do it :(

Oh well.

Ave funn, Oh and i've got a spare 2003 Msa Rule book if you want it.... The bible of Motosport
