Hi just bought a 1.4 astra engine off my mate what mods can i do 2 make it have better performance its got a k&n and had the carb set up for this and he said its had cam something or another???newbie to engines, my mates putting it in in a few weeks just wondered what could b done more to it .

Weber 32/34, AST2 or 285 cam with vernier pulley, 4 branch manifold, and maybe a gas flowed head, light skim on the head.

yup but i had it on for about 3 months before going to t40s. and going by chrises receipt, it had only been on there a short while.

since then it has been stored in a clean and good environment, not collecting cr@p and not gettin condensation or other rubbish as i have kept it mint 8)

about ?100 the weber 32 34 sells for.

yes it will go striahgt on.

to getthe mostgains your supposed to port the inlet manifold. which this one is its attached to.

you may get it cheaper than that. but the receipt here is for ?227 including postage and carriage

i didnt buy these. they were on car when i bought it.. the dates are 07/12/01 so the carb is probably coming up to 2 years old. but it had only been used for 3 or 4 months when i had it

so aragorn and rob - stop having a go at me lol. im not saying you wouldnt find cheaper. chances are you probably can. stu sold one posted for ?75 - i think will has advertised his at whatever cost also. point im making is this has had light usage, was only on the car for X amount of months. its in pristine condition and receipts for almost ?300.

ade can testify as he has bought brand new weber 32 34 and also the ramair kit.
