 as long as your not my stalker!

No seriously mate, thanks for the compliment. Took alot of effort to build it last year so glad to get peoples opions. You tend to look at your own car in different eyes to everyone else!

I can spot quite a few bits im not happy with, so going to do another couple of track days in it this year then strip it the end of november.

Planning 230 bhp for the engine, decent gearbox and having the underneath sprayed the same as the rest of the car.

Will keep you posted, few bits more i want to keep under my hat! It all depends on the money this winter though, going to buy a cav in january so cant go to mad anymore.

karl Rowntree

P.S. I have said it before aswell but stuarts car that won the PCC day really was amazing. The guy deserved to win and has inspired me to do more to mine when i said i wasnt going to!

Cant wait to see his next year! :)

The grey suits it much better than colour coding would, same as Simons old Nova. Wich was close to the same build quality as Karl's.

Karl's is not typically my thing but anyone has to admire the quality and effort gone into it, and after meeting Karl and talking to him he is probably the most humble person with it.

Have always heard everyone rave on about it in the same kind of catergory as Bretts etc and i would rather Karls seven days a week.

Will be good to see how some of the things over the winter get reaction next season.

Far from the best, i am the first to admit that mate. So many amazing cars being built at the mo, next year will see quite a few come out of hiding. Inspires me to keep changing mine every year!

Keep an eye out for andys bishops. I took a week off work last week to get started on it, going to take alot of time on that one!

Chose not to colour code the bumpers, allways think it looks a bit much on a red car, but do like it on every other colour :D Personally i think less is more, and like do things that most people dont notice. i.e relocating the fuel cap. Hopefully do a bit more of that kind of thing over the winter.

Cheers for the words ben, was good to meet you again at the national day. Still trying to make my mind up if i like the lights :?

P.S car looks orange in those pics andy!

i really annoy myself sometimes mate! looked for a set for ages, and when ive got them not sure if i like them. Dont no why, i love them on everyone elses cars! Going to restore them no matter what (new lights etc) if i dont put them on the car might hang them over the fire place! lol expensive ornament.

Karl's car certainly is very clean, very tidy and very shiny!

I'm quite looking forward to next year, hopefully get over to more show's. And i hope that i'll see more Nova's than i did this year.

Also hope i can have mine finished. I walked out of my job on sunday night because its been making me quite depressed and stressed out for various reasons. So hopefully another job will come along soon to help fund the car!

I dont think it will be to the same build quality as Karls. But it will be along the lines of Mark Beeson's.

Thanks karl.. I'll be over in a few years with a bit of experience and more qualifications to help..

Cant wait to see how the bay looks either! With the ickle 1.3 sitting in it.. Oh well, at least its much better than the 1.2i that used to sit there!

Should be out next year, if a job comes along..lol

The first time i saw Karls car i was unlucky enough to park next to it at his meet. I thought my nova was pretty good until that day. Karls car made mine look like a brown coloured shitter!! The quality and finish on that car is superb!

LOL Sy, don't be so hard on yourself. Yes Karls car is mint, but I wouldn't go so far as to say yours looks like a brown coloured s**t. It looked pretty impressive in the Flesh at PV03. Still a shame that you sold it :(

Next to Karls Bright Red beast my 15 yr old carmine red paint looks pretty cack! On its own it looked ok.

Id have loved for that to happen, the engine was still under dealer warrenty :D so if the engine broke id have got another new one.

My car was ok, i probably saw load of problems and things wrong that no one picked up on.

I do regret selling it alot.

Oh yeah my new car is a real beast. its currently stripped in my garage waiting for me to get cracking. Ill defo go for a turbo engine in it at some point in the near future i think.

http://www.photobucket.com/albums/1003/SimonKa/100-0028_IMG.jpg

Im not too sure how the new owner is looking after it although i think he inherited the bad luck i had with the car. After less than a week it was broken into, after that the water pump went then on his way home from a cruise someone ran into the back of him causing damage to the rear bumper which he was quoted 300+ to have fixed.

Andy hows your car coming along. Is that a recent pic of it?

Hi Sy,

Im trying my hardest to look after that car, Ive deffo got your bad luck! It just seems to want to commit suicide every 5 mins.

Driveshaft Oil Seals have split, along with the gear selector seal :(

The exhaust has started blowing where you said it might as well. Still, it will all be sorted next week.

Its staying off the road now for the winter :p

Any chance you can post me the reciepts, its been a while, oh and the redio removal keys, as they were not in the box. Cheers.

Gutted for you derwin :( Glad you trying your best to look after it :D I was never happy with the exhaust joint. Bit of a bodge by the garage, easily sorted though :)

Ive pm'd about the reciepts.

I had Holyoaks bits for the nova i built. Door locks, fuel filler pipe, rear door cards and maybe some other bits too. ;) cheers andy!

:o look at the rot in that rear pannel

That's right ste it is rusty, that's why i have a brand new rear panel ready to go on it! If you look through my site you'll see that behind the front turrets and inner wings are rusty, this is all being replaced along with the front panel. The car's only at it stripped down stage at the moment, replacement of the panel will happen soon and it will look better!

It is the tailgate off Mandy's Nova, as mine was absolutley knackered around the window seal... Shame I had to break that car cause of it's history, but the chassis leg was twisted and the roof was kinked under all the filler. Sounds as though the parts from it were useful to a few people though!!

Yeah I know about ste and his comments  , just stating that i know about the rust and that it's all being sorted

I was after another nova to reshell into, saw this silk violet nova in the trader for ?600, as i was on the phone to the bloke i realised what car it was, noticed it was for sale by brookside production and could see tony's volvo and the escort rally car in the background of the pic. Went up had a look at it and it seemed ok, so brought it for ?500 to either use or if not suitable to break it, bloke also give me the engine out of the GTE they rolled down the hill and a few other bits. It was in a bump before Hollyoaks had brought it, Started stripping it down and realised how badly damaged and repaired it was...
So i stripped and sold the bits.

andybishop
10-10-03, 01:57 PM
I know ste, that's why i was'nt too harsh with the reply... The bodywork on it was mint, but a dodgy repair to the rear panel before I had the car let the water in a made it rust!! Same with the front end, the person who fitted the engine orginally, did a crap job of welding, engine bay's been sealed badly and water got in!! Years of driving it in all weathers have taken there toll on it, That's why i've taken it off the road to do it all properly this time!!

Same as the top though ian! Track days, motorways and decent paintwork dont match.

Even if it only lasts 5 minutes, least it gives me something to do over the winter! :D

Removes a fair bit of weight aswell, was suprised the first race car i did how much the underseal weighed. Aslong as you dont pile the paint on after can be a good weight saver.
