Could the coasting air valve found on a nova gte engine cause the engine to run rough at idle and could it cause the engine to run rough at low revs mainly? Cheers

Ive just rang vauxhall and they said that they have never heard of a coasting air valve, so i explained where abouts its located on the engine and they said that its an egr valve that im after. Is this right? Or was he talkin sh*t? He said an egr valve is ?116 plus vat!

What do you mean by choke or whatever its called? Where is it located?

Its not the EGR valve mate, thats Vaux talking shite AGAIN!

I know the thing u mean its called the "supplementary air valve" and it sits at the back of the cam cover on the left.

As Dicko said check ALL pipes for splits, and check the SAV with 12v and it should open, remove the power and it should close. If it doesnt get yer self another one (no more than ?30)

Hope that helps

Right, just checked the Haynes for you and its not the SAV lol (sorry  )

The coasting air valve is on the right hand side of the inlet manifold.

If i were you i would just check all the vacuum pipes to start with and go from there.

Also adjust the idle on the TB to see if that helps.
